After Hamilton got off the phone with Killian, he headed straight to the bank. Upon arrival, he caught sight of Natalia and Scarlett exiting the building. Natalia's red-rimmed eyes were a clear indication she had been crying, and Hamilton found himself momentarily lost for words.
"Look who's back, Mr. Fowler?" Scarlett quipped with a sarcastic tone.
Hamilton didn't spare her a glance, his gaze fixed on Natalia, filled with an intensity of emotions he struggled to voice.
Natalia briefly met his eyes before quickly looking away, her emotions a mix of sadness from seeing her mother's belongings and anger from Giselle's earlier insults.
"Let's go," she said to Scarlett, attempting to leave.
Hamilton reached out to Natalia, "Let me drive you."
"I can manage," she responded, pulling away from his grasp.
Despite being brushed off, Hamilton was determined not to let Natalia out of his sight. Seizing the moment before the car could drive off, he hopped into the backseat, much to Scarlett's annoyance.
"Get out! My car's a no-men zone!" Scarlett snapped.
Ignoring her, Hamilton's focus remained on Natalia, "Did you get your mom's things?"
Natalia turned her gaze out the window, "Hamilton, stop bothering me."
"Yell at me, hit me if you're angry, okay?" Hamilton's voice was tinged with desperation.
Natalia let out a hollow laugh, "I won't hit or yell at you. I just don't want anything to do with you anymore."
Scarlett glared at Hamilton, "She wouldn't even bother hitting you now; you're not worth it. Get out and go back to your precious Eveleen!"
A pang of pain hit Hamilton, but he looked at Natalia, "If I realize I've made a mistake one day and seek your forgiveness, would you forgive me?"
Natalia didn't know what he was referring to, but her answer remained firm, "No."
Scarlett turned to Hamilton, "Are you getting out, or can't you see Natalia doesn't want you here?"
Hamilton finally spoke after a moment of silence, "Dr. Scarlett, Natalia is carrying my child. We can't just cut ties; I'm the father."
"Wrong, you're just a sperm donor! The real father is whoever Natalia marries," Scarlett retorted.
Hamilton felt choked up, "I'll marry Natalia if she's willing. I'm ready whenever she is."
Scarlett scoffed, "And how's that? By putting her life at risk for you?"
Hamilton's gaze darkened, "I'll keep her safe, no matter what."
Scarlett, fed up, reached for her pepper spray, aiming it at Hamilton, "Are you leaving or not?"
Hamilton gave a bitter smile, "Dr. Scarlett, anyone would think I've wronged you."
With a huff, Scarlett replied, "Wronging Natalia is wronging me. Now, get out!"
Reluctantly, Hamilton exited the car, but not before telling Natalia, "I'll follow behind."
As Scarlett drove off, Natalia couldn't shake off the feeling that something was off with Hamilton, but she convinced herself it no longer mattered.
Suddenly, Scarlett's face turned pale as she realized the brakes were failing. In a panic, she swerved the car into a green belt, causing a rough stop but avoiding a worse accident.
Hamilton was quick to react. He helped Natalia out of the car, frantically checking if she was hurt. "Are you okay? Is the baby okay?"
