After being forced to polish off a few glasses of wine by those women, Allison felt her stomach starting to burn. When she saw Martina intending to hand her another glass of wine, she lashed out her hand and pushed her away, “I’m not taking another drop of wine!”
If she continued to drink, she would definitely lose consciousness.
Martina slammed the glass on the table hard and barked, “Do you think that you are calling the shots here? Who do you think you are?”
Cameron who was watching this fiasco unfold a moment ago chipped in to give Martina some advice, “Martina, I think that’s enough. She is still Alexander’s woman after all.”
Martina snorted coldly, “Who does she think she is? Who doesn’t know that Alexander is only fond of Elaine?”
At the mention of the name “Elaine”, Allison felt a buzzing sound overcame her. She wasn’t sure whether this sensation was fuelled by alcohol, but suddenly, she felt a little melancholic.
“I don’t care about your opinion. You have to finish this glass of wine no matter what!”
Martina was trying to force that glass of wine into Allison’s hands, but the next moment, she suddenly froze after looking up.
Alexander had emerged from the inner suite and was heading towards them.
The noise was too overwhelming in the suite so he couldn’t really hear what Martina was saying. However, when he came near them, he saw Allison drooping her head and her eyes were slightly reddened.
He scanned the people around him and looked at the glass of wine in her hands. This was all he needed to deduce what had happened.
He stepped forward and pulled Allison up from the sofa to his side. He asked in a serious tone, “Who is bullying you?”
The onlookers all didn’t dare to even make a sound after seeing his serious side.
Allison just shook her head without saying anything.
Sensing that the atmosphere in the suite suddenly turned frosty as if all the fridges in the world had been thrown open at the same time, Cameron couldn’t stand it anymore as he tried to smoothen things, “Alexander, what are you saying? There’s nobody here who has bullied her. We just want to be friends with her as we share some wine…”
Alexander’s stern gaze suddenly pierced through Cameron as he said with a grave expression, “Nobody is asking for your opinion!”
In an instant, a depressing silence engulfed the room.
The men and women here were all second generation rich or the descendants of government officials, but none of them dared to spout even a word in front of Alexander.
Seeing that Allison didn’t intend to tell him the truth, Alexander reached out and took her into his embrace as he said, “Let’s go, I’ll bring you home now.”
Seeing that Alexander was going to go off just like that, Cameron tried to persuade him, “Alexander, do you really need to do this? We are all friends, right? This is just a misunderstanding, nobody is bullying her.”
Alexander stopped in his tracks and scanned the people present. His gaze was finally locked on Martina. Martina reflexively looked at the floor after being scrutinized by his murderous gaze.
“This is your one and only chance to escape unscathed after bullying my woman. There will be no next time!”
After ending his sentence coldly, Alexander led Allison out of the suite immediately.
After drinking a few glasses of wine, Allison was still suffering from gastrointestinal discomfort. However, when she heard what Alexander had just said, her whole body inadvertently warmed up for some reason.
They exited the suite and went through a corridor. A solemn expression was gracing Alexander’s face at the moment. He loosened his grip on Allison as he increased his pace. He was definitely shaken.
Allison moved slightly faster to catch up with him, but she momentarily lost her balance and threw herself at him.
Alexander frowned as he helped her regain her balance. He then asked in a low voice, “Why didn’t you say anything while you’re being bullied?”
Allison answered timidly, “I… I just didn’t want to trouble you while you’re having some serious talk.”
“Allison.” Alexander glared at her seriously, “No matter what, you shouldn’t let anybody simply exerting their ego or authority over you. Even if you’re bullied, you should know when to fight back. Do you understand?”
Allison bit her lips to sober up a little. She nodded, “I understand now.”
Since she was young, she was always soft and being touted as a pushover. That time when Julius cheated on her and accused her together with Anna, she didn’t even think to fight back. However, she was currently much assertive than before, but it seemed that she had to improve even more…
