Ecstacy of the Heart novel Chapter 8

Things would always become ugly when two nemeses met.

That woman who was calling Allison out was none other than the home-wrecker, Anna, who had hooked up with her cheating ex-boyfriend, Julius, from back then.

Allison narrowed her eyes at this couple in front of her while snickering coldly.

“It’s been two years, and you’re finally looking more like a decent human being.”

Anna was wearing a revealing strapless short dress while Julius was wearing a sapphire blue suit.

They were both the prettiest and most handsome people in the finance faculty of John Hopkins University, so their union was said to be a match made in heaven.

However, this only applied to them if one were to just look at them from afar.

When Julius heard Allison’s mocking words, his face immediately turned hideous. However, he pretended to be polite when he replied, “Allison, this is not a place you should visit.”

Allison’s usual tender gaze suddenly became stern, “Why shouldn’t I visit this place? Does this mall belong to you?”

After saying that, Allison feigned being surprised by covering her mouth and putting on an apologetic expression as she added, “Oh, I’m sorry. I think I’m mistaken. You are just a dog who has sucked up to the Aniston family, so no matter what, this mall wouldn’t belong to you, Julius Clarkson.”

“Allison!” Julius howled at Allison as if his tail had been stepped on, and he could no longer continue his forced façade of being a gentleman.

Seeing that Julius was seething with anger, Allison suddenly felt her mood become considerably better.

Julius hailed from an unknown town, and his parents were just ordinary workers.

In the beginning, Allison had chosen to be together with Julius because she admired his talent and wit. She didn’t mind one bit about his poor origin.

However, what happened next was out of her expectation. By the time they were graduating, he had sucked up to Anna Aniston who was the young lady of Aniston Constructions Co., Ltd. He was instantly transformed from a wild duck into a phoenix.

At that moment, Anna who was just watching them suddenly opened her purse and took out a huge stack of cash in front of Allison.

Allison felt her breath caught in her throat as this familiar scene unfolded in front of her. Her face turned pale all of a sudden.

Seeing that Allison was visibly shaken, Anna said smugly, “You pushover, it seems that your verbal skills have improved a lot in the past two years.”
