Chapter 457 Fulfill Your Childhood Memories

The documents that had been deleted could not be recovered by all means.

Bentley did not feel distressed but just continued to translate the remaining three documents.

Yet his typing speed had slowed down a lot.

The office was filled with the sounds of typing again, and no one took the initiative to speak.

When one was busy, time always passed quickly, and an hour seemed to pass in a flash.

Breenda tidied up the desk, packed the designer bag, and prepared to return to the Callis‘ home. She casually instructed, “Send all the translated documents to my account.”

Bentley stopped and turned to look at Breenda. “Ms. Callis, aren’t you going to have a check first?”

“You’ve already finished translating. What’s there to check?”

“I… still have two documents left. I haven’t finished yet,” Bentley said as he lowered his eyes, feeling embarrassed.

Breenda was stunned.

She stopped packing her things and looked at Bentley in confusion. “You only had three left an hour ago. Now you still have two left? What were you doing in the past hour?”

Breenda thought carefully and did not remember that Bentley slacked off. Instead, he had indeed been fully focusing on translating.

Bentley’s expression hardened slightly. He lowered his head and didn’t reply.

Breenda walked over suspiciously and looked at Bentley’s computer screen. Soon, she found something.

“When I came over earlier, I saw that you had already translated these documents. Why are they gone? Are you messing with me?”

Bentley explained with a straight face, “I accidentally pressed the delete button just now. The documents are gone, so I have to translate them all again.”

Breenda stared at Bentley in confusion and immediately checked the recycling bin on the computer.

There was nothing in it.

She teased, “So, you mean that you accidentally pressed the delete button and accidentally emptied the recycling bin as well?”

Bentley did not know how to answer.

Breenda continued to say, “Moreover, with your intellect, even if you did delete the files and empty

the recycling bin both accidentally, you have already translated the documents once, so you can still remember some of the content. If you start translating again, it should be very fast. Do you think I am easy to fool?”

Bentley pursed his lips as his ears turned red.

He was not good at lying, and he could not even explain a word.

Breenda’s face was very gloomy, and she did not intend to let Bentley off. “On the first day of work, you already play tricks under my nose. Do you think that I don’t dare to hit someone like you, Mr. McGraw?”

Bentley clenched his fists as he swallowed. “In this office, you are the CEO, and I am your assistant. You can punish me for my mistakes.”

Breenda stared at him, a little startled.

It was the first time she had seen Bentley, who had always appeared cold and aloof, looking so humble.

It really made Breenda feel like role–playing.

“If that’s the case, then I would be more than happy to fulfill your childhood memories.”

Breenda turned around and walked back to her desk, taking out a thin and smooth sandalwood ruler from the drawer.

She once used the ruler to punish the cousin who was stuffed into the company for an internship. After that, it had been kept in the drawer for a long time.

To use it to hit the most privileged kid in Salt Lake City, Breenda actually felt a little guilty.

But on second thought, as the boss, Breenda didn’t think it was a big deal to teach her assistant a lesson.

Moreover, she knew how to keep it in an appropriate range.

Breenda braced herself up and walked steadily towards Bentley.

Bentley looked at her, feeling guilty. He had been obedient since he was a child and never caused trouble. He had never been hit by something like a ruler and did not know how it felt.
