Chapter 562 Haven’t Giving Up on You
After returning to the room, Jason took the initiative to carry Aletta into the bathroom without her asking.
Soaked in warm water, Aletta’s fatigue was eased slightly.
She comfortably narrowed her eyes and leaned against Jason’s chest.
Aletta was already in a state of half–consciousness after being cleaned
Jason gently carried her to the bed and held her in his arms as she fell asleep.
The next morning, after finishing a bread and a cup of hot milk, Aletta went to the research institute, along with Jason and the children.
They began their examinations shortly after their arrival.
Jason and the children went through numerous examinations. Even with the help of the team, it took almost the whole day.
Around four o’clock in the afternoon, the examinations were finally completed.
Aletta took off her mask and said to the team, “Thank you for your assistance.”
Everyone smiled and said, “No problem.
Afterwards, the team members left in a hurry.
Once they were gone, Aletta looked at the children and Jason.
The children sat neatly on the chairs, looking obedient and adorable.
Jason crossed his legs, sitting casually with a handsome demeanour.
The scene inexplicable healed Aletta’s heavy heart a little.
She walked over and asked them, “Are you tired?”
The children shook their heads and said, “Not tired. Mommy is probably more tired than us, right?”
Jason reached out and pulled her over, massaging her neck.
Aletta had been busy around with the examinations today, constantly examining the data with her head down.
“Are you feeling uncomfortable?”
Jason asked with concern.
Aletta enjoyed his service and shook her head, saying, “I’m fine, don’t worry… Now that the examinations are over, do you still have work to do? If you do, you can go back first. I’ll leave later.”
She glanced in the direction of the lab and continued, “I’ll print out the test reports that are ready, but the results for the remaining part of the tests won’t be available until tomorrow.”
Jason checked the time and realized that there was indeed something he needed to attend to at the company.
Therefore, he agreed, “All right.”
Afterwards, he kissed Aletta’s forehead and gently reminded her, “I’ll send the children home. Take care of yourself and don’t make yourself
tired.”
“Okay, goodbye.” Aletta nodded and smiled.
Seeing this, the children waved and said, “Mommy, goodbye. We’ll
miss you!”
“Okay, I’ll miss you too, my babies.”
After bidding farewell, Jason left with the children.
Aletta focused her energy on completing the remaining tasks.
Annie helped her and, after examining the results, she couldn’t help but say, “Based on the data, it seems that Jason and the children are in good health without any problems.”
Aletta sorted the data while saying, “Yes, for now, they don’t seem to have any health risks, which is good news… It seems that the problem might lie in the genetic changes, which would cause their DNA to be incompatible!”
As she said this, her heart turned somewhat heavy.
She recalled the incident when she had been injected with banned drugs, resulting in genetic changes.
She suspected that the problem might lie with the children.
Back then, Albert had come into contact with all the children and secretly sent Otto and Nina to the Hill Family.
Perhaps he had done something to the children at that time…
If that was the case, why wasn’t the issue detected during the previous examination of the children? Too many doubts lingered in Aletta’s mind, causing her to worry.
Around nine o’clock in the evening, Jason came to pick her up after he
had finished his work.
On the way back, Aletta shared her speculations with him.
Jason had thought about this too.
After listening, he responded, “It’s similar to what I had in mind.”
Aletta sat beside him with an expression filled with a cold aura.
Her voice carried a hint of chilliness as she said, “They were just babies at that time! How could Albert lay a hand on them? And unfortunately, he’s already dead…”
There was nothing they could do to a dead person.
Jason, seeing her reaction, comfortingly patted her hand and said, “Although Albert is dead, someone is likely in orchestrating this behind the scenes.”
Hearing this, Aletta’s gaze sharpened, and she stared at him, asking, “What do you mean?”
“Albert was just a person working for the Hunter Group. Don’t forget, there’s someone else in the group who understands this even better, Professor Peter.” Jason explained.
Jason continued as there was no point to conceal anything at this moment, “There’s something I didn’t tell you… Jenny was hypnotized, which is why she stubbornly claimed that the children aren’t mine. I suspect that the person who came into contact with her during our time abroad is a Hunter Group member. They were certain of the outcome, which is why they dared to manipulate Jenny to cause a scene.”
