Ex-Husband’s Regret: Barren Mommy Has Quadruplets novel Chapter 576

Chapter 576 Holding with Fear of Dropping, Protecting with Fear of Melting

Jason was still preoccupied with the matter of Countess after Eaton left.

The enemy was hiding in the dark while they were an easy target out there.

He realized that he had too little information about them.

After a moment of contemplation, Jason picked up his phone and dialled Reg’s number.

Reg answered, his deep voice sounding composed. “Yes, Mr. Hill.”

Jason went straight to the point, “I have something to ask you. You should be familiar with the Bloods Group and Countess, right? Your family has a long heritage with deep knowledge, I believe you should be familiar with this.”

Reg wasn’t surprised at all when he heard this.

He had anticipated that Jason would ask about this, so he replied, “Indeed, we had dealings with them, but that was over a hundred years ago… The Bloods Group and Countess were last seen over thirty years ago. According to my senior, Countess used the Bloods Group to commit numerous crimes and created countless enemies. Soon, they were besieged by many hidden prominent families. The besiege had nearly led to the destruction of the Bloods Group, and since then, they disappeared completely. Everyone believed they had been annihilated… It was only recently, that I learned they were temporarily hiding and biding their time in the shadows.”

Reg’s tone turned serious as he continued, “The fact that the Bloods Group can cultivate the two major forces of ‘Hunters’ and ‘Devourers’ indicates that they have grown much stronger than expected.”

Jason grunted and assigned two tasks to Reg.

“Find out which hidden prominent families were involved in the siege of the Bloods Group back then. Besides, investigate the current situation of the Bloods Group as soon as possible, including the true identity of the woman. She has targeted my wife and children, and I have a feeling… it was because of me.”

From altering the genes of the children to the subsequent attempts to capture Aletta for human experimentation, it seemed that none of this was a mere coincidence.

They had been planning for several years.

Countess had to be eliminated, as she posed a significant threat.

“All right, I will deal with it,” Reg replied without hesitation.

After hanging up the phone, Jason called Aletta, “Are you done with your tasks?”

Aletta’s sweet voice came through the phone, “Yes. I’ve already talked to President Thompson, and his team will study the children’s situation.”

She looked out the window and noticed the pleasant sunshine.

She added, “I’m planning to go to the company later. We have a launch, and I need to hand over some tasks to Flora. I’ll have dinner with her.”

Jason never interfered with her plans, although he still worried about her well-being.

However, in the current situation, keeping her busy might alleviate her constant worry for the children.

He spoke gently, “Then I’ll pick you up at ZELING tonight.”

“Okay.”

After the conversation, Aletta headed to the company.

Upon arriving, she went straight to Flora’s office.

Normally, Flora would either be reviewing documents or in a meeting

at this time.

As she walked into Flora’s office, she found her sleeping on her desk.

Aletta was surprised and couldn’t help but look at her.

She noticed that Flora looked tired as if she hadn’t rested well.

With a gentle smile, Aletta decided not to disturb her. She took a blanket from the sofa, covering Flora, and prepared to leave.

However, Flora was a light sleeper, and she woke up immediately from Aletta’s movement.

She rubbed her sleepy eyes and looked at Aletta, saying, “Aletta, is it you? Why are you here?”

Aletta replied, “I came to discuss with you the handover of the new product…”

And then Aletta asked with concern, “Why were you sleeping on the desk? Didn’t you rest well last night?”

“Hmm,” Flora nodded, stretching her muscles.

With this movement, she felt a headache and a burning sensation in her throat, an indescribable discomfort had overwhelmed her.

Hearing her voice, Aletta furrowed her brows and said, “You sound congested. Are you catching a cold?”

Without waiting for a response, she reached out and touched her forehead to check her temperature.

And she confirmed, “You have a fever.”

Flora realized it too.

She must have caught a cold last night in the car.

She didn’t pay much attention to it and said, “It’s fine. I’ll drink water and sweat it out.”

Observing Flora’s listless appearance, Aletta became even more concerned. “Are you in a bad mood?”

She directly asked.

Flora paused for a moment and replied, “Is it that obvious?”

“Yes! You are as wilted as an eggplant after being frostbitten!” Aletta said bluntly.

She crossed her arms calmly, and added, “Tell me, what’s going on?”

Flora hesitated.

However, she couldn’t help but speak up when faced with Aletta’s caring gaze, “We argued last night.”

Aletta understood the “we” that she referred to.”
