Suddenly, Henry strode over to Luz.
"What do you want?"
Logan glared at him fiercely and held on to his mother's hand.
"Don't bully my mommy!"
This strange man's expression was cold and scary, as if he wanted to eat his mother.
"I just need to talk to your mother," Henry said told him without taking his eyes off Luz.
Then he tilted his head as if he had just thought of something, and turned to Declan.
"Mr. Carver, you don't mind, do you?" His voice was as cold as ice.
"I..." Declan didn't know what to say.
Everyone in North City knew the name, Henry Maynard. He represented authority and status.
As for Declan Carver, he was just a general manager in a second-rate company. He did not have the power to fight against Henry.
"Of course not." He concessed with a elegant smile.
Henry snorted disdainfully and turned back to Luz.
He was tall and exuded a chilly aura. With every step of his approach, Luz felt even more flustered.
When she tried to lower her head out of nervousness, he suddenly lowered himself and said into her ear, "Luz Boone, do you know what I swore to myself the day you left me?"
...
Her heart jumped. She raised her head and saw that his thin lips were curled up even more.
However, little Logan was not happy to see them in this intimate position. He widened his eyes and tried his best to glare at Henry.
"Why did they have to whisper into each other's ears?" he thought. "Something fishy is going on!"
