Ex-husband's Sweet Trap novel Chapter 64

"Henry, I don't want you to die."

There was a kind of delicate pleading in her anxious words. Henry was shocked. He looked at her frowning in her sleep, and there was a hint of deep tenderness in his eyes.

"Stupid woman. How can I die? I won't give you a chance to find another man so easily."

He placed his hand on her waist tenderly. The simple movement pulled at the wound on his back, but he did not hesitate at all, even though he frowned with the pain. The respectful distance between them disappeared.

She hadn't had a good rest for several days. She slept until late evening the next day.

Instinctively, she looked over to the other side of the bed, but there was no sign of Henry. Luz sat up immediately in a panic. Where did he go?

She ran out of the house anxiously and saw Henry in the yard with an old phone. He was talking animatedly into the phone. She caught him saying grandmother, which reminded her that she had forgotten to call home. Logan and Grandma must have been worried sick.

Hearing the footsteps, Henry hung up the phone. He turned his head and looked at the woman with messy hair. He couldn't help frowning. "Even if I'm not interested in you, you should pay attention to your image."

"..."

She ran a hand through her hair awkwardly in an attempt to freshen up. She had panicked when she didn't see him in the room just now, so she just ran out without caring about her appearance.

"Are you... are you calling grandma?"

"What did you think I was doing? Do you want them to worry?" Henry looked at her disdainfully. The feeling of inferiority made Luz explain herself instinctively,

"Of course not. I just..."

She was just so worried about his injuries that she forgot to call her family to tell them that they were safe. But she was too embarrassed to say that.

Henry returned the phone to the woman, who was busy feeding pigs in the yard. Then he turned to her and continued, "I'm hungry."

"Oh... I'll cook some porridge for you.

"

Under his gaze, Luz's heart beat faster. She immediately turned around and ran to the kitchen.

Henry, who didn't like to be waited on, suddenly began to enjoy the feeling of being served, although the person who served him could sometimes be a little stupid.

After a few days of porridge, he recovered well enough to have normal food. The kind villager they were staying with were very welcoming and would cook their meals every day.

"It's so good to be young. I feel very happy looking at you two."

"Madam, we..." Luz tried to explain that they were divorced, but then she figured that it didn't matter, so she just let her go on.

"By the way, Miss, do you have children?"

In this rural village, it was a custom to chat and eat at the same time. The woman pushed a plate of food towards Luz and asked.

"I have a son."

At the mention of Logan, a warm smile appeared on Luz's face.

"You don't look like it! You're in such good shape I can't believe you have a kid. How old is your son?"

"Seven years old."

She answered truthfully. The woman was surprised. Her next words were like a machine gun. "Seven? It's time to have another, then. You should not wait too long. If the age gap between siblings gets too large, they won't get along."

"I don't intend to have a second child."
