Chapter 158 Maybe I Overthought It
How did Mother and Rachel come?
I told him Carley’s room number, hung up the phone, and was about to go downstairs to pick him up when Walter stopped me, “What’s Wrong?”
“My mom and the others have arrived,” I said to Walter, then walked to the elevator to wait. After a moment, a shadow fell over me. I
glanced sideways and saw a tall, upright figure standing next to me. It was Walter.
Seeing this, I slightly furrowed my brow, what was he doing?
“I’ll go with you to pick it up,” he said, his expression serene.
Unable to discern his thoughts, I didn’t say anything more.
“Ding!” The elevator door opened, and inside were my mother and Rachel. Seeing Walter and me waiting outside, Rachel grinned and said, “Tabatha, Mr. Hinton, are you going out?”
I shook my head, reached out to help my mother out of the elevator, and said, “Didn’t Mr. Borseth just call? How did you get up here so quickly?”
Before Mother could speak, Rachel said, “Olivia told us. We met downstairs. She was waiting for Mr. Borseth to park the car.”
Did Olivia also come?
I smiled and led my mother to the door of Carley’s ward. William had already finished visiting Carley and came out. Seeing a few more

people outside, he was somewhat surprised and greeted my mother.
When he looked at Rachel, before he could even speak, Rachel had already extended her hand and said, “Mr. Hinton, I’m Rachel. I haven’t properly thanked you for last time. These are some health supplements I’ve prepared for Carley. I hope you won’t mind.”
What she was carrying in her hands were all high-quality ginseng and matsutake mushrooms, most of which were quite expensive. The Hinton family naturally didn’t lack these, but it was still a thoughtful gesture. Seeing this, William smiled softly, took the items and handed them to Emma, looking at Rachel and saying, “Ms. Martin, you’re too kind. Last time was just a small effort on my part. You’re my sister-in- law’s friend, I wouldn’t ignore you. But thank you for coming to visit my grandmother, I’ll thank you on her behalf first.”
Rachel waved with a blush, her gaze falling on Emma. She paused slightly, then smiled and said, “This is…”
“This is my wife, Emma. You and Tabatha can just call her sister-in- law,” William introduced.
Emma handed the thing in his hand to Dale, looked at Rachel with a gentle smile and said, “Hello.”
Rachel chuckled and complimented Emma a few times.
I always felt that something was off about the atmosphere, but I couldn’t quite put my finger on what was wrong at the moment.
Carley hadn’t slept for long before she woke up. The people who came to visit her had entered the ward, and the once quiet ward became lively again.
It was already dinner time, Walter made a call to arrange for dinner. I had been busy all day and was somewhat tired. The ward was full of people, I didn’t bother to squeeze in, so I simply sat on the rest chair in

the corridor.
When my mind was blank, an extra person sat down next to me. It was Alexander.
“What are you thinking about?” The voice of Alexander came from beside her ear.
With my eyes closed, I asked wearily, “How come you all are here?” I could understand why mom came to see Carley, but why was Rachel here too?
Alexander was a smart man, he understood the meaning behind my words. He directly said, “Rachel mentioned that the eldest young master of the Hinton family had saved her. She had been unable to find an opportunity to express her gratitude. Today, as Mr. William came to visit Carley, she took this opportunity to thank her lifesaver.”
I pursed my lips, this seemed to make sense.
“What’s wrong?” He asked, noticing my furrowed brow.
