Chapter 432 The Hinton Family from River City Came Looking for Me.

As long as everything went smoothly, Michael could return to his country safely.

Having arranged all this, Stanley looked at me and asked, “Is Michael the only one locked up in these mountains? Isn’t there anyone else?”

It was indeed strange, when I came here, there were quite a few people who had been kidnapped from the country and kept in these mountains. There were men and women, forced to work as free labor. Some who didn’t want to work were forced to ask their families for money or borrow from their friends and relatives. Some who didn’t obey had their legs broken, or if they were deemed worthless, their organs were removed and they were discarded in the fertile soil of Venom Rose.

Over the past few days, I visited Michael several times and found that the number of people locked in the dungeon gradually decreased. In the last couple of days, there were even none left, as if they had been taken away.

Seeing my silence, Stanley asked, “What’s wrong? Is there something amiss?”

I shook my head, pursed my lips and said, “There were quite a few people locked up here before, but it seems like there haven’t been any recently. I’m not sure if it’s because the Venom Rose here is about to be harvested, and they don’t need labor, so they’ve all been taken away.”

Stanley nodded slightly, “That could indeed be possible.”

The only possibility I could think of was this. After talking with Stanley, I went back to the mountains with Marguerite.

Upon entering Michael’s darkroom, I hadn’t seen him for a few days.

He seemed to have gained a lot of energy in the past two days. His complexion didn’t look as old as before, and now he didn’t look like a skinny old man anymore.

Seeing me, he glanced at the food I brought and said, “Girl, your actions here are becoming more and more unrestricted.”

I smiled faintly, handing him the food in my hand, “Michael, it won’t be long before I can take you away from here.”

His attention was all on the food. Hearing my words, he slightly lifted his eyes to look at me, paused, and said, “Leave here? How? Have you and your police friend thought of a way to escape?”

Seeing that he didn’t seem to take this matter to heart, I said, “The Venom Rose here is almost harvested. When the people here are busy transporting these things out, we can take advantage of the fewer people and find a way out.”

He raised an eyebrow, looking at me and said, “Are you running away with me? Or is there someone else?”

I shook my head, looking at him and said, “I also want to go back to our country, but it’s not the right time yet. You go back first, and when I finish my business here and return home, you have to treat me to a meal. Also, you haven’t told me about your thrilling stories from the border over the years.”

Thinking of this, I couldn’t help but say, “Right, Michael, is your home in River City? If you go back to your country first, how can I contact you when I return?”

He looked at me, paused slightly and said, “If we really could go back to our country, it would be a kind of fate between you and me. Then, you can find me at the old Hinton family house in River City”

I was stunned, surprised for a few seconds, and for a moment, I was

川

somewhat at a loss for words:

Seeing my surprise, he couldn’t help but ask, “What’s wrong? Do you know someone from the Hinton family in River City?”

I nodded, momentarily at a loss for words. Telling him that I was the ex-wife of the current chairman of the Hinton family in River City seemed impossible to bring up. After a few seconds of hesitation, I looked at him and asked, “What is your relationship with the Hinton family in River City? Are you a close relative?”

His surname was Chen, and I hadn’t heard of such a relative in the Hinton family over these years, so I was genuinely curious.

He gave a faint smile, nodded slightly, and said, “In any case, if we are lucky enough to go back, you will know, it’s just…”

The words that followed, he didn’t say, subtly sighing without leaving

a trace.
