The ringtone startled Elaina and Jalen. Elaina came to her senses and leaned away to avoid Jalen.

“Theodore, what’s wrong?” Elaina picked up the phone.

“Where are you? Are you OK?” Theodore asked anxiously from the other end of the line.

Elaina frowned and realized there was something wrong with Theodore. “What’s wrong, Theodore?”

“Nothing.” Theodore did not know what to say.

“Theodore, what happened?” Elaina was not silly. Judging from Theodore’s tone, she knew

something must be wrong.

Theodore fell silent. After a while, he said, “Nothing serious. I just had a quarrel with Sue. She

might have some misunderstandings. I am afraid she will come to you.”

“Had a quarrel with Sue?” Elaina could hardly believe that. She had never seen Theodore quarreling

with anyone.

“Just a misunderstanding. Anyway, ignore her and don’t take her words seriously if she comes to you,” Theodore said in worry.

Elaina did not know what had happened between Theodore and Sue, so she only agreed and did not

say much.

After hanging up the phone, Elaina put away the phone and turned to Jalen, who was looking at her.

“Theodore?”
