Chapter 268
Perhaps what Jalen had said worked. Elaina got up from the sofa and had breakfast with Jalen.
Elaina was still down and did not say a word for a long time.
“He will leave today, won’t he?” Jalen asked.
Elaina nodded. Jalen continued, “Won’t you see him off at the airport?”
Elaina shook her head and ate her breakfast. Then, she said, “No. Just as you said, it isn’t a separation between life and death. What is the point of my seeing him off?”
Jalen shook his head and did not say anything else.
Elaina finished her breakfast and then lay down on the sofa. Jalen pulled Elaina up. “Get changed now, and I’ll take you out.”
“Where are we going?” Elaina raised her head slightly. She was not in high spirits and did not want to go out.
“You will know when we get there.” Jalen did not answer the question. He led Elaina out, got in the car, and left Kemp Apartment.
Elaina soon knew where Jalen was going because she saw the word Airport not far away.
Moved, Elaina turned to look at Jalen beside her. Jalen was driving intently and did not notice the look in Elaina’s eyes.
The car stopped. Elaina and Jalen got out of the car. Jalen said, “You don’t want to see him off face to face, but you can do it privately.”
Elaina said nothing. She didn’t veto this suggestion.
Jalen led Elaina to the waiting room reserved for VIPs. There, they could see the ticket barrier not far away.
“Thank you.” Elaina thanked Jalen in a low voice. There appeared a hole in her heart, and the heart, made of steel, was slowly crumbling.
Jalen smiled. He hated Theodofe but also wanted to make Elaina happy.
Soon, Theodore and Andrew appeared at the ticket barrier. The two men talked with each other. Then, Theodore looked around as if he
was waiting for someone.
After a long time, he did not find the person he wanted to see and retracted his gaze with disappointment.
