Chapter 309
Jalen thought, I won’t tell Elaina that the only reason why I agreed to Saul’s request was that he promised me not to pester Elaina anymore.
Saul’s request sounded ridiculous, but I agreed anyway.
“I don’t think he is good at acting. If anyone from his family sees them together, they will be suspicious,” Jalen said. Instead of answering Elaina, he changed the topic.
Elaina glanced at Jalen. He didn’t tell her, and she wasn’t intending to ask him further.
“Are you sure you don’t need my help to deal with the Stein family?” Jalen asked. He was worried that Elaina would not be able to handle it and wanted to help, but he was also
afraid that by doing so, he would jeopardize her plan without her consent.
Elaina took out her phone, clicked on the photo album, and handed the phone to Jalen.
“Yes. I have found a breakthrough already,” she said.
She had been doing some digging about the Stein family in the past few days, and she
had finally found some clues.
Jalen looked at the photo in the album and frowned. “This is?”
“Deven’s sister,” Elaina replied with a smile. “She is the daughter of the Stein family, but
not many people know about it. She has received almost no preferential treatment when
working in the Stein Group.”
“Are you going to flip her?” Jalen instantly figured out Elaina’s plan.
Elaina nodded and then shook her head. “Not really. It’s easy to tell that she isn’t close to
her family. I don’t need to flip her at all.”
“What if she is doing that willingly? Maybe she wants to sacrifice for her family,” Jalen
said. Not everyone was as ambitious as Alisha.
Elaina was silent for a moment. Then she said, “It’s a possibility, but I think it’s pretty
remote.
“Maybe she was willing to sacrifice and had no complaints at the beginning. However, it has been a long time. Without anything in return, who won’t hold a grudge?”
Elaina thought, never mind Deven’s sister. I couldn’t have managed it if it were me.
Jalen did not say anything else. “Now that you have a plan, go ahead. I’ve got your back. through thick and thin.”
