Chapter 42
However, Elaina only glanced at him before she turned on her phone and saw the trending topic about her.
Elaina scrolled through the comments and got a general idea of what had happened.
“Don’t be sad. Those netizens don’t know the truth at all. They are manipulated by
public opinion.” Jalen looked at her with some concern.
Elaina put away her phone and said calmly, “Don’t worry. I’m not that vulnerable.”
If some random comments from the outside world could harm her, she would not have
made it to where she was today.
After calming herself, Elaina looked at the woman with interest and was about to ask
her what exactly she wanted to do. Unfortunately, before Elaina could speak, a group of
reporters with cameras and microphones ran toward her and besieged her.
“You are Dr. Gainsford? As a doctor, you refused to perform surgery on a patient. Don’t
you think you are too lacking in medical ethics?”
“That child is only in his teens, yet he died just like that. Do you feel sorry even in the
slightest?”
“Someone said that you became the deputy director through connections. What have
you got to say to that?”
One question came after another. With a gloomy expression, Elaina looked at one of the
reporters. “Who told you that the child had died?”
“Had he not?” Didn’t they say that the kid had lost too much blood to survive?
Elaina looked at the reporter coldly, then her gaze swept the crowd. “As a reporter, you
don’t even do the most basic fact-checking. I advise you to go home and sleep now.”
“You!”
