"Lisa, let's run faster!" Sean exclaimed as he continued to run, occasionally glancing back to make sure his older sister was running behind him and not being left behind.
Their breaths sounded heavy and labored, sweat-drenched all over their bodies, their arms and legs were injured by the thorns of the plants in the forest. Fatigue was felt, coupled with both of their knees hurting because they had been running non-stop in the middle of a dark forest.
"Sean, wait. I can't run anymore," said Lisa, trying to catch her breath.
"Okay, let's rest for a while, then we'll go back to running because they will chase us here," Sean replied as he asked Lisa to sit under a tree and he also sat beside his sister.
"Sorry, I got you involved in this," Lisa said sadly.
"You don't need to apologize, didn't we promise mom to take care of each other? The most important thing is that we have to get out of here immediately,” said Sean.
"Thank you, Sean. I think I feel stronger already. Let's get back to running," said Lisa.
“We just walk fast to save energy. But the problem is where should we go?” The two of them looked around the forest, trying to get help, but to no avail. They are in the middle of the forest and are caught between the battle of the two strongest packs in the city, namely the Black Skull Pack and the Blood Moon Pack.
It was a full moon night, the howling of wolves was heard everywhere. The howling sound echoed throughout the forest, making anyone's guts shrink. Worse, Lisa and Sean don't know where to go and run away from the wolves.
Tired as they were, they could only hope for a shelter now because stopping here means certain death. The night was getting late and there was no light in the distance, all that could be seen was a row of tall trees that soared into the sky and a thin mist that was enough to block the eye.
Then, they decided to walk back through the dark and uninhabited forest. Only the sound of the nocturnal beasts could be heard echoing in the ears. Both of them felt very frightened, especially they had just seen a large group of creatures they had never seen before.
Two groups of creatures that are similar to dogs, but they are larger with sharp fangs and scary eyes, plus their howling voices make the hairs stand on end.
As they walked, the two of them went deeper into the forest, where the moonlight only shone a little on the interior of the forest. The thorny plants and the steep paths have to be traversed by them. Not infrequently, the skin of their hands and the skin of their feet are cut by sharp plant thorns.
As far as the eye could see, not a single person could be seen passing by, and no light could be seen entering the forest. This made them both more afraid and worried. Will they be lost forever in the forest? Will they die horribly by the wolves?
They lamented too much curiosity that resulted in them being trapped in the middle of the forest at night without carrying supplies or other belongings. While enduring the cold, they continued walking, hoping to find a house they could use as a place to rest.
“Sean, how is it? How long do we have to keep going?” Lisa asked holding back tears.
"I don't know, but we shouldn't stop walking," said Sean, looking at his older sister's face.
