290 I Love All Your Perfections and Imperfections
Wayne froze when he heard her words and then looked at Anna in confusion.
"| don't want to hear anything about what happened that day again. I'm not interested in her, and I'm not interested in what she said. You don't have to keep reminding me about it.” Anna lowered her head and explained briefly.
Meanwhile, she purposefully avoided mentioning the point.
She wasn't worried that Wayne would believe Lillian and think she had actually had group s*x with several men that night. But she was afraid that Lillian would be so irrational that she would claim she had been in the wrong room and become Wayne's surrogate mother.
She knew if Wayne knew what happened that night six years ago, she'd be screwed.
So, she just wanted to get it over with as soon as possible and prevent him from bringing it up again.
However, Anna was unaware that Wayne had misunderstood her.
With a tight frown, he looked at Anna's back, and his expression became more solemn.
Later, Wayne called Gabe after dinner while Anna went back to her bedroom to shower.
Gabe sounded perplexed and said, "Well, it's been six years since the incident happened, you know. Plus, Allie Gabriel is no longer alive. So, | don’t think that there's a way for me to find out the truth.” Wayne looked serious and said indifferently, "Stop making excuses. | expect you to figure out who the five men are within the next three days. And | don't care what method you use or whether its legal. You know exactly what to do then.”
Gabe sighed as he sat on the couch after hanging up the phone.
Anna had just gotten into bed when Wayne wrapped his arms around her.
She froze and then reminded him, "Did you forget that you have a cold? Don't infect me, please!”
"Don't worry; I'm healed," Wayne whispered. He pressed his face against her neck, making her tingle all over.
"How dare you lie to me?" Anna asked as she immediately realized what he was talking about.
She wondered why Wayne's cold hadn't cleared up after so long. Besides, he seemed to be in good spirits and didn't appear to be sick at all
Wayne wrapped his arms around her and said before she turned around, "Oh, that’s because | couldn't bear to leave you.
"Huh? What?"
"You have been very sweet to me when | was sick."
"Huh?" Anna returned her gaze to him, perplexed as to why he had said that. However, she couldn't see Wayne's expression because he was resting his chin against her brow.
Wayne was usually reserved and even aloof. And yet, his tone was very gentle at the time.
He spoke slowly, "Anna, | love you for being you. Whatever you have
been through or encountered in the past will not change my feelings for you."
Anna froze, and then quickly realized that his words had a deeper meaning.
Anna was aware that he had misunderstood her, but she felt she had no way of explaining it.
After a long pause, Anna asked, "Have you ever considered that everyone wears a disguise? So, what if you find out that I'm also wearing a disguise?"
"What's the problem with that? Are you trying to keep something from me?" Wayne inquired softly as if he was joking
