Chapter 139 Still Love Him
Norah and Shawn went to the office together.
Though they had married for two years, Norah had been to Shawn's company for the first time.
The skyscraper in front of her was at the busiest location in the city. After getting off the car, Norah said, "Go and deal with your business. I'll wait for you downstairs."
"Wait for me in my office."
"No." Norah shook her head, "I've never been there in the past two years, and you've never publicised your marriage. Many people will ask about me if I go with you now."
"I'd better leave you alone. There's a mall nearby. I'll wander around in the mall."
Shawn frowned and said, "You can go to my office alone, or I can carry you."
Norah was speechless.
She sighed and asked him, "Why do you make it difficult for me?"
"As you said, you're about to divorce me, so consider this my last time to pester you!" Shawn said with his deep eyes looking at her.
"Fine!" Norah got up, "You go up first. I'll come later."
The two made concessions. Shawn walked to the lift, "Okay."
About ten minutes after he went upstairs, Norah got up and went to the lift.
When she pushed the door open and saw the office, Norah was momentarily amazed. The office was large and spacious, clean and almost spotlessly decorated inside. The vast floor-to-ceiling window made the office bright.
The office was very nice.
It was unexpected that the office was not as luxurious and decadent as she had imagined but rather extremely simple and clean. That was in line with his style.
At work, he was certainly thunderous and meticulous.
At that moment, there was movement from over the blinds, a push on the door, and the sound of talking, as if a meeting was taking place.
Norah looked through the gap in the curtains and saw Shawn walk in a suit.
Earlier, when the two had gone to Shawn's grandparents' former home, Shawn had been wearing casual clothes.
Now he had changed into a black suit and walked to the chair at the front of the meeting room with dignity and grace.
His chest tie draped right over the table as he bent over, with an air overlooking everything.
The morning sun, spilling in just in time, fell on his handsome face, casting a beautiful silhouette.
Norah looked at him and was dumbfounded.
People in the meeting room were in a hot discussion.
Shawn sat at the front of the room and listened quietly. When everyone had finished, his cold, sharp eyes swept over the group, and then his low voice slowly reached Norah's ears.
At that moment, she heard the thumping of her own heart.
It was so rapid, so violent.
It turned out that she still loved him no matter how much time had passed.
In the past ten years, she had seen him in many ways.
She had seen the serious way he studied. The way he practised calligraphy.
She had seen him on the field of play, in all his glory;
She had seen him in the shower and him sleeping beside her;
She had even seen him in sex when he was mad, his eyes scarlet, and he almost lost control.
She had seen all of them and remembered them all in her mind.
So deep, so clear, so familiar.
However, he hadn't seen the one he had when he was working.
People said that men looked the most handsome at work, especially when they worked in suits and were meticulous.
Norah had always thought that was a bit of an exaggeration until she saw him today, and she didn't think these words were exaggerated.
The way he sat there, the profile of his face, the way he listened intently, or the way he looked down at his writing made her heart beat faster.
