Finding Love in the Boss’s Embrace After Divorce novel Chapter 1100

Chapter 1100 Uncontrollable Desire

However, she didn't intend to make everything clear. Some things needed to be in the gray area; extremes always hurt people.

"That's good. In fact, Mr. Harper may argue with me sometimes, but he's very nice to me. He's really, really, really a good person," Lucas spoke up, praising Bert, partly because the man treated him well, and partly because he felt that if he didn't say these things, Mr. Harper might never find a wife in his lifetime.

Alivia smiled when she heard his emphasis, "I know it."

After putting Lucas to bed, Alivia waited for nearly another ten minutes, realizing that there was no sound coming from the adjacent room. Almost half an hour had passed since Bert went to take a bath.

She couldn't help but feel curious. Did something happen?

Seeing that Lucas was already sleepy, Alivia tucked him in and decided to go back to check on Bert.

She closed the door gently and used another room card to swipe open Bert's door. The room, which had been brightly lit earlier, was now shrouded in darkness. Alivia was taken aback and tried to listen, but there was no sound of water coming from the bathroom.

Her heart sank. She moved inside, and before she could insert the room card into the slot, a strong hand grabbed her arm.

"Ouch... Oh!" Before she could make a sound, her mouth was covered by a wide hand.

Her heart started racing, her pulse reaching its peak as Bert's face, in the dim light, came into focus.

He looked as though he was drunk, appearing somewhat confused. His usually sharp and clear black eyes were clouded.

She widened her eyes in surprise, tilted her head, and managed to avoid his hand. She exclaimed in a low voice, "Is that you, Bert?"

Alivia was extremely worried. It was just a bath. How could it suddenly become like this in more than 40 minutes?

Could it be that he has some hidden illness or a sudden illness?

Thinking of this, she became even more flustered. Seeing that he was in great pain, she immediately ignored his warning and pushed him away, "Bert, get up. I'll take you to the hospital!"

Her hands, which were cold because of fear, accidentally touched his chest. His burning and uncomfortable body felt like it had touched a water source, and he instinctively wanted more.

Everything was running out of control like a floodgate that had been opened.
