Finding Love in the Boss’s Embrace After Divorce novel Chapter 1103

Chapter 1103 I Will Compensate You

One night of indulgence and the first thing he did in the morning was to put on his pants and leave. If it weren't for the scene unfolding before her eyes, Alivia could never have imagined that such a thing would happen to her.

Alivia stared at his back, clearly stiff, but luckily, he finally turned around and spoke in a reserved tone.

"The wine I drank last night was drugged," A succinct explanation that was neither explanatory nor an excuse, more like a matter-of-fact statement.

Alivia couldn't help but smile soundlessly, suppressing the warm pain rising in her eyes. Like a shattered porcelain doll, she softly asked him, "So what?"

Bert's face remained tense as he looked at her exposed shoulders and collarbone, adorned with numerous dark red marks—the ambiguous traces seemed to be taunting him.

"Look, you are nothing special. You can sleep with another woman even if she wasn't Evelyn."

"What affection? What restraint? It's just what you think it is."

He wasn't looking down on her, nor did he dislike her. It was himself he disliked. He had always firmly believed in his feelings for Evelyn, but all of it was shattered by the frenzy of last night.

After persisting for so many years, he had subverted himself. This feeling made him instinctively resist.

So, when faced with her pair of eyes filled with grievances, he said, "I will compensate you."

Compensation.
