After a sound sleep, when the first light of dawn broke through, Marcellus found himself waking up. Despite his usual late-night engagements, he maintained a regular waking time in the morning. As he opened his eyes, he noticed that Beryl was still asleep beside him.
She looked adorable when she slept, her petite body snuggled up against him, peaceful and quiet. Her clear, big eyes were closed, and the sheets had slipped down, revealing her fair shoulder.
From her neck down to her shoulder, there were the faint marks he had left last night, and just looking at them made him feel a sense of possessiveness.
Marcellus gently closed his eyes to quell the rising desire. He reached over to pull the sheets up, covering those ambiguous marks.
Perhaps disturbed by his movements, Beryl blinked her long eyelashes a couple of times and then opened her eyes. Seeing him, she seemed a bit dazed, and her bewildered expression was particularly cute.
"Awake?" Marcellus raised an eyebrow and propped himself up on one side, gazing at her.
Beryl's eyes roamed around the room. When she saw the scattered clothes on the sofa, flashes of last night's scenes came rushing back to her...
Blushing immediately, she hid herself under the covers. "I... I'm awake..."
Marcellus knew she was shy. Despite having encountered countless women, this was the first time he had seen such a bashful expression. He smiled faintly, pursing his lips, and raised his hand to gently brush her smooth forehead. "Are you tired?"
Tired?
If he asked this at any other time, Beryl probably wouldn't think much of it. But at this particular moment, the meaning behind his words seemed somewhat profound...
"Not tired," she replied. After speaking, she was about to move her body slightly away from him, but before she could exert any force, she felt a sharp pain in her waist as if someone had given it a hard slap.
She couldn't help but let out a low exclamation, "Ah..."
"What's wrong?" His concerned gaze immediately turned towards her.
