"Tomorrow, after watching the movie, I'll take you out for dinner. Let's have a good meal," he wished he could do everything he could for her, fearing that he might miss something.
An overwhelming sense of happiness and warmth washed over Beryl. In her twenty years of life, aside from her family, this was the first time someone cared for and cherished her like this.
Instantly, all her tiredness and weariness vanished, leaving only contentment and joy in her heart.
"I'm fine. You don't have to worry."
"How could I not worry?" Marcellus sighed and added, "I have so much money and nowhere to spend it. Aren't you afraid I'll find another girl to share your burdens?"
Upon hearing his words, Beryl was stunned for a moment before becoming angry. She glared at him. "Marcellus!"
"All right..." He intended to tease her, but as soon as he heard her tone, he couldn't help but apologize. "I was just kidding."
Beryl playfully threatened him, "Then I'll find a handsome guy at school to share your burdens. Would you like that?"
"You dare!" Marcellus immediately got angry, using intimidation to its fullest, "If I find out, neither of you will have a good time."
"You're such a double standard!"
"I'm just indulging in some playful banter. You rarely let me see you, so I can't even indulge in some verbal fun?" His words were gentle, his posture humble.
Beryl snorted lightly, "Aren't I going to accompany you tomorrow? Right now, I really can't spare the time..."
"I know." Marcellus interrupted her. "I don't mean to blame you. I'm already very happy to see you."
