"What?" Eunice looked at her suspiciously, casting a sidelong glance, "How come I never get such a luxurious car when I call a ride-hailing service? That car must be worth over one million dollars, right?"
Beryl hesitated for a moment, avoiding eye contact, and gave a forced smile, "Maybe it was just a coincidence."
"Oh?" Eunice looked suspicious and glanced towards the gate, but the car that had been parked there was already gone.
"Yeah, let's hurry, or we'll be late for class again." Beryl didn't want to dwell on the topic, so she pulled Eunice's hand and walked quickly towards the entrance of the teaching building.
Observing her hurried steps, Eunice had already figured it out.
She didn't believe anyone would be willing to use a car worth over a million as an ordinary ride-hailing driver. Not to mention the cost of fuel, just driving that car around would be too extravagant.
Beryl might not usually take taxis much, so that was why she came up with such a lame excuse.
However, Eunice narrowed her eyes and never expected her to be so capable. Beryl always seemed innocent and straightforward, but who would have thought she could attract wealthy men?
In Eunice's eyes, Marcellus's company's cheapest car became a symbol of wealth.
Beryl and Eunice were not particularly close; they were just ordinary classmates. If Beryl's life was relatively simple, then Eunice's was the opposite.
She always dressed very flamboyantly, wearing makeup even for classes or picking up deliveries downstairs.
Some might consider her style to be ostentatious, but Beryl believed that everyone had their own preferences and choices, as long as they didn't bother others.
