That afternoon, Beryl made a trip to the bank. She had Marcellus's bank account number and directly entered the card number to transfer the money.
The next second, she received a call from Marcellus.
She picked it up and put it next to her ear. She didn't hide it and took the initiative to ask, "Did you receive it?"
"Did your family pay the money back in a hurry?"
"Yeah."
For a moment, Marcellus didn't know what to say. He was a little unhappy, but that was her parents' idea. He couldn't say anything. Even Beryl couldn't stop them.
Marcellus paused for a few seconds and said, "No rush to pay the rest."
"I know you're not in a hurry, it's my parents who are worried." Beryl was also a little helpless. "They haven't borrowed money from anyone else. As long as they owe money, they'll feel uneasy."
Marcellus had seen people who owed money and were not willing to pay it back for the rest of their lives, but he had never seen someone who was anxious to pay it back.
His girlfriend's parents were so unmaterialistic that he didn't know whether to be happy or sad.
"Are you going to school this afternoon?" After thinking about it for a while, he still changed the subject.
"No, I want to have a rest in the afternoon. I'm a little tired these days."
She was busy going to the hospital and attending classes, so she donated her only spare time to Marcellus. Recently, her face had been a little swollen, and she had almost fallen asleep several times in class.
"Go to my place," Marcellus said as he glanced at the assistant standing next to him. "Send a car to the hospital to pick up Beryl."
"Yes, Mr. Perkins."
