Chapter 234 Danger on the Sea 

“You don’t want me to kill him?” The man’s sarcastic voice came from above her head. “Do you enjoy being toyed with by him?” 

The harsh words came into her ears, but Evelyn was not angry at all. She was particularly afraid that her retort would make Bert lose control and push her into the cold and bone–chilling sea. 

The long blue gauze dress fluttered in the wind. Behind her was endless darkness, and a few clouds could be seen vaguely in the sky, which were not very clear. 

The woman lowered her head and did not make a sound. 

Bert raised his hand to lift her chin but unexpectedly touched the wet liquid on his hand. 

The man frowned and lifted her face. Her palm–sized face was covered with crisscrossing tears, and there was crystal–clear liquid flowing out of the corners of her eyes. 

Warm tears flowed down her delicate chin into his palm and suddenly became hot. 

She was crying. 

When his brain received this signal, its first reaction was to let go of her. 

As if Evelyn had lost all her strength, she slowly squatted down and sobbed. “Why did you do this to me…” 

“I saved you, but you wish you could torture me to death. Why…” 

“You almost killed me and that man just now. How could you kill…” 

Her voice came out of her mouth intermittently. It was so soft that it made people feel uncomfortable as if his heart was being held tightly. 

Bert looked at the person curled up in a small ball at his feet and frowned more tightly. He stood still and reached out to smoke irritably. Only then did he remember that the doctor had banned him from smoking because of the injury. 

His heart was filled with frustration. 

Because the woman was crying. 

Her sound was wronged, angry, unwilling, and regretful, which made him panic. 

After an unknown time, Evelyn’s legs went numb, and her crying gradually stopped and became sobbing. 

Bert exhaled heavily. “I’ll send you 

back.” 

Evelyn was about to wipe away her tears when she heard this. She couldn’t help but be stunned. “What?” 

“I’ll send you back.” The man repeated it with a bad temper as if he would go back on his word in the next second. 

Evelyn bit her lip and didn’t know if she should believe it or not, but Bert didn’t give her any time to hesitate. He turned around and walked forward. After walking for a while, he didn’t hear footsteps behind him and stopped to look back. 

She didn’t move at all.
