Chapter 553 You Indirectly Killed Evelyn
"Ben." Lucy choked with sobs as she called out to her husband. "Let's go."
Ben did not speak, and his eyes became redder. He got up and helped Lucy up. Ben could not eat or sleep well for a few days. Lucy was extremely nervous, and her physical strength was not as good as before. She was in a trance when she stood up, and her feet were so weak that she almost slipped.
Huston subconsciously reached out to help Lucy up, but she dodged.
The man's palm froze in the air, feeling embarrassed and ridiculous.
Lucy didn't even look at Huston. Instead, she looked in the direction of the door and said, "You don't have to pretend to be kind here. Ben and I won't be touched by you looking for her. You indirectly killed Evelyn. Even if you are half an accomplice, we will never forgive you."
Huston looked at her empty fingers, and a wave of bitterness surged in his chest. Every word of hers was like a dagger stabbing into his heart. "Uncle, Auntie, I know you hate me. I can't wait for something to happen to me. It's indeed me who harmed Evelyn. I've let her down, I've let you down, but I won't die..."
Hearing what he said, Lucy didn't care at all. Just as she was about to sneer at Huston, she heard him say, "I will live like this, with guilt and longing for her. If I can't find her, I won't marry anyone else in my life. I will take care of you and Uncle together, not to please you, but to atone for my sins. This is what I owe you."
When Lucy heard this, she couldn't help but turn her face away and wipe her tears. How could she imagine what would happen in the future? It was as if they had never thought that something would happen to Evelyn.
