Huston's assistant, Benjamin Miller, personally drove Evelyn back to her apartment. On the way back, the atmosphere in the car was a little depressing. Looking at the rapidly receding street scenery outside the window, Evelyn was still in a state of confrontation with Huston and could not come back to her senses.
Seeming to have noticed her uneasiness, Benjamin glanced at the rear-view mirror and asked softly, "Miss Shelton, do you want to play music?"
Evelyn came back to her senses and nodded stiffly a few seconds later. "Okay."
After five years, she was very nervous when she saw Huston again, and she was even a little wary of his assistant. Who knew if he would go back and report her situation to Huston?
Just as she was letting her imagination run wild, Benjamin spoke again in a gentlemanly manner, "Actually, you don't have to be afraid. Perhaps in the eyes of outsiders, President Lloyd is very strong and indifferent, but he is not like this to you."
Hearing his words, Evelyn asked him subconsciously, "Then how do you explain what happened just now?"
He would not hurt her, but he took advantage of her regardless of her situation.
Benjamin was silent for a few seconds as if he was thinking about how to answer. However, he had received good education since he was a child, so he also felt that what happened tonight was unfair to Evelyn, but...
"I know that such a thing will make it difficult for you to accept for a while, but President Lloyd is not trying to hurt you. He's just too excited to see Miss Shelton and lost his mind." He had been by Huston's side for three years, so he knew his boss' temper and character well.
Huston had never been greedy for women, nor had he ever crossed the line. Although he did not cater to women, he had absolute respect for them. He would not hurt Evelyn for the sake of a moment of pleasure.
Of course, Evelyn understood this, but she didn't want to admit it, because only in this way could she have a reason to hate that man.
