"Yes, but I'm fine now." After saying that, Huston reflected on himself reasonably. "But no matter what, it's my fault for leaving you and Mom for so long. I apologize to you. I'm sorry."
When Lucas heard his apology, he didn't care about anything else. His low spirits poured out. "After you left, Mom was very sad. Every time I asked about Dad, she would look very sad. Dad, don't leave Mom and me in the future. I don't want her to be sad."
Lucas had grown up with Evelyn. At first, he had always been a child without a father. He knew how hard it had been for Evelyn, so he was particularly concerned about Huston's departure.
He didn't want his mother to be sad, nor did he want to become a child without a father again.
Huston understood what the child was thinking. His heart ached, but at the same time, he felt even more guilty. "I promise you, I'll stay by your side from now on. Whatever you and Mom say, I'll listen to both of you."
"Really?" Lucas looked up at him suspiciously.
Huston nodded without hesitation. "It's true."
"All right, I want to eat a champagne ice cream ball." Lucas rolled his eyes and pointed at the ice cream that he had been drooling for a long time.
Huston thought that he had some sort of high demand, but who would have thought that it would be this...
Evelyn had just said that he was not allowed to eat cold food. She was afraid that he would feel uncomfortable after coming back from Lownon. But in the current situation, he had just promised the child, so he couldn't go back on his word.
After thinking for a moment, Huston asked the waiter to serve him an ice cream. He watched as Lucas happily scooped up a spoonful of ice cream and put it into his mouth. After that, he moved closer to him and asked, "Can you give Dad a bite?"
Lucas looked at his small bowl and generously handed him a spoon. "Sure."
Huston took the spoon and quickly scooped it up. Since he didn't like cold food, he swallowed the ice cream directly.
