"Please don't worry. I will immediately have someone investigate how he managed to get in," Mr. Bulwer wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and quickly addressed Joe.
Joe nodded and casually took the wine glass from Charlotte's hand, nodding slightly to everyone. "I don't want to hear about today's incident from anyone outside this room."
After speaking, he emptied the contents of the glass in his hand and looked around at the crowd.
Everyone present was astute in business, so they quickly responded and raised their glasses in agreement.
"Of course, that guy was just talking nonsense."
"Yes, exactly. We all know the truth and won't let Miss Clinton be wrongly accused."
Sandra also approached at this moment, raising her glass with a smile towards Charlotte. "I never expected you to experience such injustice, Miss Clinton. It's truly surprising."
Charlotte smiled faintly. "It's not exactly injustice. The person who manipulated Zack from behind has disappeared from this city. I hope this one has better luck."
"So, Miss Clinton, you have such power in the Capital City?" Sandra pretended to be surprised and asked, "I think I haven't offended you, right? I was just kidding, please don't mind."
Charlotte's smile deepened. "Miss Faulkner, your jokes are quite amusing. I hope you can keep laughing like this."
Sandra's gaze darkened, but her smile remained unchanged on her face. "Of course."
The back-and-forth exchange between the two women continued while Joe remained uninvolved.
However, as he and Charlotte were about to leave, Joe's steps faltered slightly, and he spoke in a low voice, "It seems you didn't take my previous words to heart."
Sandra furrowed her brows, about to offer a retort, but Joe was already pulling Charlotte away.
Clearly, he didn't care about Sandra's explanation.
Sandra gritted her teeth tightly and took a deep breath.
