The man watched the mechanical bee cautiously, his eyes full of suspicion. "Why should I trust you?"
"Just because... you have no other choice," Sharon said calmly.
His straightforward response, instead of being harsh, actually eased the man's demeanor.
"I'm just someone trapped here, and I can't help you with anything," the man self-deprecatingly chuckled. "No matter what you're planning, I can't assist you."
"No need. As long as you can communicate with the other laborers," Sharon confidently stated. He quickly explained a plan to the man.
From initially dismissing the idea to eventually having a sparkle in his eyes, the man straightened up rapidly. He looked at the mechanical bee and asked, "Are you sure you can rescue us in time?"
There were quite a few supervisors in this gold mine, and it might be challenging to deal with all of them at once.
"No problem, as long as you can successfully execute the plan," Sharon promised.
The man remained silent, his eyes lowered for a long while. He didn't know who was behind the mechanical bee or how they had such incredible capabilities.
However, the one thing he knew was that this might be his last chance to escape.
After much contemplation, the man finally made a decision. "Alright, I'm willing to cooperate with you. But I can't guarantee how many people I can persuade."
"That's okay, just do your best," Sharon understood that in such circumstances, many would prioritize self-preservation, and at least this way, they might secure a way out.
The man nodded, and just as Sharon was about to manipulate the mechanical bee to leave, he suddenly stopped it. "My name is Nico," he said, "If... I mean, if the plan fails, please find my family and tell them I love them."
