Flora’s Guide to a Second Chance at Love and Life novel Chapter 1005

Flora hung up the phone with a calm indifference.

"Boss, who was on the line?"

"Just an idiot," Flora replied, slipping her phone into her pocket.

Howell, hearing this, realized someone had gotten under her skin. He adjusted his glasses and asked, "Want us to teach them a lesson?"

"Not even worth it," Flora chuckled lazily. "Let’s focus on the interviews. You all go ahead; I'll join you soon."

"Got it."

...

Meanwhile, Blake stared at her now-dark phone screen, her face contorted with frustration.

The past few days had been a nightmare for her.

Someone had leaked her whistleblowing, and now the entire academic world was abuzz. Former mentors were avoiding her like the plague, and the research position she had been promised had evaporated.

In academia, nothing is dreaded more than a tarnished reputation. She had become persona non grata among many esteemed professors.

She despised Flora, and the idea of apologizing over the phone was repugnant, but Mr. Richard’s deadline was looming.

She had no choice but to make that call.

Flora should just let bygones be bygones, after all, when does a senior apologize to a junior?

But to her astonishment, Flora had simply hung up!

...

Flora sent Howell and the others ahead to the interview room.

After sipping on her drink, she strolled over, arriving fashionably late.

Outside the interview room, Lydia and a few others waited anxiously.

The interview was about to begin, and she was eager to meet Rose.
