Several people trailed behind him.
"Nathaniel, what brings you here?"
Aisha closed the file she was working on and looked cautiously at Nathaniel. He had always been Gregory’s most devoted lackey, so his visit likely spelled trouble.
Nathaniel spoke with a smile, "We've all noticed how hard you've been working lately, Gregory. You look so worn out; you must not have had a good night’s sleep in ages. I’ve brought a few top-notch professionals here. They’re all graduates from prestigious universities, including two from the University of Maple Grove’s Computer Science program. From now on, they’ll be working with you, Gregory."
Oh, so now he wants to plant his people here? Aisha glanced at the group behind him. They were young, probably fresh out of college.
She responded indifferently, "Thank you for your kindness, Nathaniel, but I don’t need any additional help at the moment."
"Is Gregory mistrusting my people?" Nathaniel deliberately frowned. "This isn’t just my personal gesture; it represents the will of many shareholders. You are clearly understaffed, Gregory. Why not accept them? Are you looking down on us or the people we recommend?"
He had effectively put Aisha in a tight spot.
"I appreciate the thought, Nathaniel, and that of the shareholders, but I truly don't need more help right now," Aisha maintained her smile. "I’ve already found sufficient assistance."
"Really?" A hint of skepticism flashed in Nathaniel's eyes; he clearly didn’t believe her. How could it be easy to find computer science professionals? They had made sure to find out that Aisha was in dire need of staff. Nathaniel thought, even if Aisha had indeed found someone, they couldn’t possibly compare to the people he brought, who not only had rich work experience but were also graduates from prestigious universities, including the University of Maple Grove!
