Thin eyelids fluttered open slightly as she turned her gaze towards Alexa. Not a word left her lips.
Under the weight of that stare, Alexa felt a pang of guilt. The bathroom incident replayed in her mind, making her uneasy. But she reassured herself that Flora wouldn’t dare to do anything dramatic in front of such a crowd.
Even though her accusations were made up, people tend to believe whatever she says.
“Flora, those shameful things you’ve done... we won’t tell anyone. But you should really...”
Before Alexa could finish, Flora hurled a book at her. It sliced through the air, the corner grazing Alexa’s cheek and drawing blood.
Everyone was stunned. Alexa, too, was so startled she momentarily forgot to react.
“Didn’t you say I was out to ruin your hands?”
Flora stepped closer, her demeanor casual but her smile ice-cold. “If you really don’t want your hands, I could help with that.”
She was done with the back-and-forth. Letting Alexa off the hook repeatedly had clearly been a mistake.
Alexa recoiled from Flora’s piercing glare, stepping back and accidentally treading on Libby’s foot. Her elbow smacked into Libby’s nose, almost making her cry.
“So scared of me, yet you have the guts to spread lies?”
Flora sneered at Alexa’s cowardice.
Such a small amount of bravery, yet she dared to challenge her?
“Flora?”
