Flora stood there nonchalantly, one hand tucked in her pocket. She wasn't particularly tall at 5'5", but next to Orla, who was just 5'1", she seemed to tower over her.
Some folks just have that presence; they don't need to do anything special to draw everyone's attention.
Flora was one of those people.
The moment she showed up, it was like Orla's light dimmed, making her look almost insignificant.
"What's your name?"
Earlier, Flora hadn't gotten a good look at her from a distance. Now, up close, her brows knitted together as she took in Orla’s features.
"I'm Orla!"
Orla replied with a smile, her almond-shaped eyes squinting cutely.
Flora's pupils narrowed. Orla...

She licked the back of her teeth and smiled, walking past Orla to her own desk. She pulled out a paper from the drawer and handed it to Orla.
"Since you're so brilliant, take a look at this."
Orla took the paper, a flicker of disdain crossing her eyes when she saw the title.
The topic was old news, thoroughly beaten to death by others. It was like picking through leftovers.
But as she read on, her initial contempt vanished, replaced by shock.
How could this woman write something of this caliber?
The topic might have been overdone, but Flora's approach was entirely unique! Even Mr. Atticus had written on a similar topic, but his work was nothing compared to Flora's! It was like night and day!
And Orla was no exception.
There were entire sections that left her utterly baffled.
