**The Night Before Departure: Shallow Bay**

Flora sat cross-legged on a small sofa, watching as Connor packed her bags. Winter had settled in, making Maple Grove freezing cold, and Lone Island was bound to be even worse. Worried that the young lady might struggle with heavy luggage, he packed only the essentials, planning to buy the rest once they arrived.

Hugging a pillow, Flora nestled on the sofa, silently observing him. Her phone kept buzzing with messages from Professor Yang, who was fussing in the group chat, reminding everyone not to forget anything essential, much like a mother hen.

"Tomorrow, you'll take the chartered flight, and I'll follow in my private jet," Connor said warmly, sitting down next to Flora after finishing the packing. Due to Lone Island's strict immigration controls, competitors could only enter on special chartered flights. Ordinary planes without prior clearance weren't allowed.

Since Connor wasn't competing, he couldn't join Flora on the chartered flight. So, he decided he'd fly over in his private jet instead. He couldn't bear the thought of Flora going to Lone Island alone, given its many dangers.
