Mr. Tanner and the others grabbed a cab and took off.
Flora shot Moss a quick message, asking him to come get her. But just as she stepped onto the curb, a massive truck came barreling her way! It was moving so fast, like the driver had a death wish, and it closed in on her in a blink!
The air was filled with the terrified screams of bystanders. Flora twisted her body just in time, narrowly escaping being run over, though her elbows and knees scraped hard against the curb.
A bald man, wearing a mask, leaned out the truck's window, looking shocked, as if he hadn't expected Flora to dodge so quickly. In the next heartbeat, he pulled out a gun and aimed right at her arm.
