Chapter 21
Natalie
e something was off the moment she and Darren were standing so close. Realizing the situation, her face flushed with a mix of embarrassment and anger. She raised her hand and slapped him. “Darren… you p**t!”
Darren easily caught her slender wrist, a teasing smirk on his face. “If you weren’t trying to tease me, would I be like this?”
What a jerk! Natalie gritted her teeth and aimed a kick at him.
But this time, she missed. Darren was quick, grabbing her hand and pushing it above her head, pinning her against the wall. His knee pressed against her legs, making it hard for her to move.
“Let go of me!” Natalie shouted in frustration.
“Do you really want to break me?” he replied in a low voice. “If you can’t have me, do you just want to ruin me?”
His solid chest pressed firmly against her, and his warm breath brushed against her skin. This was way too close. Too provocative. “Let go!” she shouted.
She had been trained-she knew how to handle herself-but right now, he had her completely trapped, and it was humiliating Frustrated and angry, she twisted her body and struggled desperately, not realizing that her movements only made things harder for Darren.
“Don’t move!” he growled, clearly losing his patience. “Unless you actually want something to happen between us?
“You… shameless! Jerk! Creep! Scoundrel! You have no shame!” Even though Natalie didn’t dare to move, she didn’t hold back on the insults. She shot him a fierce glare
Her beautiful face was flushed, and her eyes sparkled with unshed tears from the anger, making her look even more stunning.
Just then, footsteps echoed at the door. Darren lowered his gaze and warned her, “If you don’t want anyone to find out, keep quiet.
Td love for someone to catch us! Let everyone see Mr. Luther harassing women in the ladies’ room, and have someone drag you out of here… Mmm!”
Before she could finish, a large hand covered her mouth, and Darren whispered, “Shh!”
Someone had just entered the restroom, and their voices were loud and clear now.
“I can’t believe someone like Natalie Xavier exists! She clearly prepared a dance, but insisted on doing that ridiculous boxing routine. She just wants attention. Does she want to be famous so badly? A woman’s voice was heard.
“Well, to be fair, her dance was pretty good.” This voice was calm and emotionless.
Everyone knew that Natalie’s performance of “Come” had set the stage on fire that night; the video was going viral online. It seemed like everyone forgot that before her, Tessa had also performed “Come.”
Tessa had been seen as a top performer, especially in her gorgeous dress and with her perfect grades. She had been getting a lot of attention and had a real shot at making it big. But now, all that was overshadowed by Natalie.
Tessa was obviously upset. Although she pretended to praise Natalie, her friend Chloe quickly picked up on her irritation. With a pout, Chloe touched up her makeup. “Good dance? That’s nonsense! She can’t even compare to you. Those judges must be blind. They only see her money and rave about her. It’s like a group of beggars who’ve never seen cash”
Tessa stayed quiet, biting her lip in frustration.

Seeing that Tessa was still frowning, Chloe added, “Honestly, she just a C-list star. You shouldn’t even care about her. We have dirt on her. Once that gets out, social media will tear her apart. She’ll have to leave the entertainment scene, and there’ll be no competition left for you.”
“Tessa felt a bit better hearing that. “I heard she’s from some small town, trying to make a name for herself in Greton. It must be tough for her, having to please those… well, let’s just say, ‘older gentlemen’ behind the scenes while acting all glamorous in front of everyone.
Chloe shook her head. “You’re too nice. Maybe she really likes those older guys.”
Just then, someone cleared her throat, startling both of them. They turned in unison to the door, and there stood Vivian, having snuck in without them noticing.
Tessa’s expression shifted a bit as she nervously greeted, “Vivian”
Vivian looked at the two girls, her gaze lingering on Chloe. “You never know who might be listening. As artists, you need to be careful about what you say and do. If someone hears this and spreads it around, do you really think you can survive in this industry?”
Tessa felt her face turn red with embarrassment and quickly lowered her head. “Sorry, Vivian! We’ll be more careful from now on.” With that, she grabbed Chloe, and they hurried out of the restroom.
Vivian touched up her makeup in front of the mirror, her mind racing with the conversation she’d just overheard. So, Natalie has a sugar daddy? That tracks. Coming from a small town and flaunting all those designer brands—it’s hard to believe she did it all on her own. But who’s backing her? In Greton, the only ones with the kind of cash to throw around millions are either Darren or the head of the Williams family
But the head of the Williams family was an old guy-fat and unattractive. The idea of a beauty like Natalie being with him, while she, Vivian, was Darren’s favorite, gave her a strange sense of pride.
Feeling delighted, Vivian couldn’t wait to see Darren. She quickly touched up her makeup, and as she was about to leave, her eyes caught something on the floor.
Suddenly, she stopped, frowning as she stepped forward to pick up an exquisite cufflink. It looked familiar and clearly expensive. Upon closer inspection, it was engraved with the letter “D”-it was Darren’s.
But this is the women’s restroom! How did his cufflink end up here?’ Vivian’s heart raced as her eyes darted to the only locked stall. ‘Could it be… he is in there?
She took a couple of steps forward, then abruptly stopped. The air was filled with a rich, feminine perfume with a hint of pear, ‘Another woman? Is Darren behind that door with someone? The thought made Vivian feel like she was going to break down
With gritted teeth, Vivian took one last angry glance at the locked stall door before storming out of the restroom. She walked with purpose, making her high heels clack loudly against the floor. Once she reached the stairwell, she ducked in and hid. She was determined to find out who was behind that door.
Inside the restroom, Natalie glared. “Get your hands off me! Everyone’s gone. How long are you going to keep this up?”
Her tone was full of irritation. Darren loosened his grip and stepped out of the stall. “As if I’d enjoy touching you! Who do
think are?”

Natalie rolled her eyes. “Right, Mr. Luther, why would you even want to touch me? But I’m just curious-who was reacting earlier?”
“Shut it” Darren said, his voice low and sharp. “Do you have to say everything that pops into your heart? Where’s your sense of femininity?”

Natalie looked at him, then tossed her hair over her shoulder, her long, blonde waves falling gracefully. She flashed him at flirtatious smile, pulling her chest out just a little to show off her perfect figure. “Mr. Luther, maybe you should get your eyes checked if you can’t see what’s right in front of you!”
She was clearly flaunting her curves, hinting at something. But Darren scanned her from head to toe, seeing right through her act. “You’ve really put in a lot of effort just to catch my eye.”
Natalie was puzzled.
Darren smirked. “So, you tried to play hard to get, and now you think using your body will lure me in, huh?”
Natalie was speechless.
“You’re quiet now that I called you out, huh?” he said, a smug grin on his face.
