“Why do you come to me? It’s not good to be known by Leo.” When Claire finds Luke, he chuckles and asks.
Claire says, “Luke, I want to ask you about the last time you told me in the hospital that Leo and Emma met in a hotel.”
Why does Claire suddenly ask about it?
Luke is investigating Emma recently and finds more and more doubts. Claire suddenly asks about it. He has a bad premonition.
Luke puts down his coffee seriously and puts his fingers together. He looks at Claire and says, “to be honest, I’ve told you everything in the hospital. Leo really cares about that little wild cat, but I think...”
Claire is nervous. She looks at Luke calmly and asks, “but what?”
Luke doesn’t answer. He looks Claire in the eye and asks unconsciously, “but why do you ask about it?”
“Because I think Emma is very strange today, and Leo’s attitude towards her is not very good. I think they quarreled. Last time you said Leo cared about Emma. If so, why does he treat Emma like this today?” Claire makes a random excuse and wants to ask Luke the truth.
Sure enough, Luke thinks for a while and decides to tell Claire about the investigation of Emma. “I doubt that Emma is not the little wild cat Leo is looking for.”
Hearing this, Claire’s face changes, and her premonition becomes stronger and stronger. She stares at Luke and asks, “you say Emma is not the little wild cat that Leo is looking for? Why do you say that?”
“I can’t prove that Emma is not the person Leo is looking for, but I will find out her real identity, and...”
Luke suddenly realizes that he has said too much. He shouldn’t have let Claire know too much.
But Claire is thinking. She hears only half and doesn’t know what Luke is talking about. She is thinking that Emma is not the little wild cat Leo is looking for.
If Emma is really not the person Leo is looking for, it must be someone else. She was robbed of her virginity by a stranger in the hotel that day. She lost the important jade pendant and it was picked up by Leo.
The only one who’s had this experience is Claire herself!
Otherwise, why are the two things so similar? Why does she have the same jade pendant?
“Luke, is that the Taiping hotel? Is the place she said East Lake?” Claire asks, suppressing her shock.
Luke freezes and stares, “how do you know? Leo and the little wild cat did meet at Taiping hotel in East Lake!”
“It’s July 8th, isn’t it?” Claire bites her lip and continues. She sits up straight and doesn’t let herself shiver.
Luke is surprised that Claire knows about it. But he nods, “it’s July 8th!”
Claire feels her head is about to explode. She is shocked. It was Leo who took her virginity!
However, she married Leo wrongly and is humiliated and embarrassed because she is not a virgin.
Claire feels like she’s been hit by lightning.
So her baby must be Leo’s!

The readers' comments on the novel: Genius Son Sells his Mom to Dad
The storyline could have been better -- organization and cohesion of episodes could stand improvement, ending could have been more definitive resolving the many conflicts between the protagonists. Of course, the despicable treatment of Leo towards Claire initially, e.g., selling her off in an auction and giving her to the madam of the club as princess is inhuman and a violation to the wife's rights and honor. I was wondering why she did not leave after these maltreatments. Oh, well, the conclusion [if the narrative ends in Chapter 488] is quite disappointing and anti-climactic. Thank you just the same....
The end of the story is wanting, considering how the episodes build up to conflict after conflict and concluding in yet another conflict. But then c'est la vie! Thank you....
