Claire opens her eyes and looks at the familiar ceiling. She knows she is dreaming!
The room is still dark. Claire sits up and turns on the light. She can’t help covering her eyes with her hands when the light is on. It’s dazzling.
When Claire gets used to the brightness of the light, she slowly lowers her hand. She looks at the empty room and suddenly feels sad and lost. She can’t help but cover her face and cry.
She knows it isn’t a dream. It is true. Her mother, her father and Bryce are all dead.
They are all killed by Leo!
Claire cries. She doesn’t sleep all night. She gets out of bed to open the curtains when the sun rises. She goes to the balcony to see the garden and the sky on the first floor.
The garden is peaceful and comfortable. The flowers and plants in the garden are illuminated lazily by the hot sun. They are full of life.
But Claire doesn’t feel the warmth at all. She is as cold as hell. She shivers with cold.
Claire feels like a walking corpse at the moment. She has no emotion or perception.
What’s the point of living? Why not die?
Thinking about it, Claire smiles. She stands outside the balcony fence and looks at the sunny sky. She closes her eyes and opens her arms. She falls slowly towards the sun.
“Ah!” The maid who is cleaning the garden sees it. She can’t help shouting and rushing into the room, “she’s dead!”
Leo’s villa is in a mess. All the servants don’t know what happened at first. In the end, they all know Claire’s suicide!
Leo is shocked when he hears the news. His mind is blank for a moment. His heart seems to be gripped. The next second he grabs the maid and roars, “where is she now?”
The maid is also frightened by the news. “She’s in the garden,” she says, shaking.
Leo shoves her away and rushes to the garden.
Leo’s heart pounds. He doesn’t know why he is nervous. He doesn’t realize that he is afraid of losing something important at the moment.
Leo runs to the garden and sees Claire lying on the ground. Her crotch is bleeding. He is in a panic. He squats down and picks up Claire. He shouts to the servants who are at a loss, “call the doctor!”
One of the servants responds and calls the emergency number.
Claire doesn’t seem to have lost consciousness. She reaches for Leo with all her strength. She says to him in a very small voice, “Leo, let me die.”
Claire is terribly pale. Her lips are white without a trace of blood. Her eyes are half open and she frowns. She is in pain and seems to die at any time.
“Shut up!” Leo roars angrily at Claire. He grabs Claire’s little hand and picks her up. He yells, “Claire, you can’t die without my permission. I won’t let you die!”
Nothing else!
...
Claire is in the operating room all day. Leo has been waiting outside the operating room. But the longer time passes, the more worried Leo becomes.
Just as Leo is restlessly trying to rush in, the light in the operating room finally goes out. Claire is pushed out to rest in the general ward.
Leo wants to follow. A doctor stops him. “Are you the patient’s family?”
Leo just wants to say no, but he thinks the doctor might have something to say. He admits, “yes. What’s the matter?”
The doctor shakes his head and says in a slightly reproachful tone, “you are too careless. How can a pregnant woman jump off a building? Fortunately, the pregnant woman is in good health. But her baby almost died.”
Leo freezes and doesn’t speak.
The doctor sighs and pats Leo on the shoulder. He continues, “don’t worry too much. Don’t let her do such a risky thing in the future. She needs a period of rest. She can’t walk around until the baby in her stomach is stable.”

The readers' comments on the novel: Genius Son Sells his Mom to Dad
The storyline could have been better -- organization and cohesion of episodes could stand improvement, ending could have been more definitive resolving the many conflicts between the protagonists. Of course, the despicable treatment of Leo towards Claire initially, e.g., selling her off in an auction and giving her to the madam of the club as princess is inhuman and a violation to the wife's rights and honor. I was wondering why she did not leave after these maltreatments. Oh, well, the conclusion [if the narrative ends in Chapter 488] is quite disappointing and anti-climactic. Thank you just the same....
The end of the story is wanting, considering how the episodes build up to conflict after conflict and concluding in yet another conflict. But then c'est la vie! Thank you....
