Kate is sure that Conan is the son of Claire and Luke.
When did they start to fall in love?
No wonder Claire said Luke is a good man and she doesn’t mind that Luke is a good friend of Leo. It turns out that they have this relationship! Why doesn’t Claire tell her? Kate can’t accept the thought that Luke and Claire are lovers and they have a son.
Even her heart aches.
Luke keeps watching them in silence. Kate doesn’t look happy. He explains, “I’m sorry. I didn’t tell you that Conan is Claire’s son because I have difficulties.”
Kate thinks Luke admits his relationship with Claire. Kate lets go of Conan’s shoulders and looks sadly at Luke. “When did you start?”
“What do you say?” Kate’s sad expression and her words bewilder Luke.
Is he not awake enough to understand what Kate is talking about?
Kate’s face is pale. She falters, “you... You and Claire... When did you start?”
“...”
After hearing Kate’s words, Luke’s face changes, and Conan can’t help wanting to laugh when he is listening.
They think almost at the same time that Kate is so imaginative that she misunderstands that Luke and Claire are lovers.
Of course Luke can’t let Kate misunderstand them. He says awkwardly, “Claire and I don’t have the kind of relationship you think. Conan is Claire’s son, but not mine.”
“Ah!” Kate’s face changes. She stares at Luke in disbelief and says, “you mean Conan isn’t you and Claire’s son?”
“No...” Luke wants to laugh. Kate is so cute. She thinks he and Claire are lovers.
“No...” When Kate realizes that she misunderstands them, she is embarrassed.
She subconsciously wants to bow her head and admit her mistake, but she seems to think of something. She suddenly looks up and stands up. She hits Luke and glares at him angrily, “why didn’t you explain to me earlier? Do you think it’s fun to tease me?”
With that, Kate gives Luke another shove.
Luke is pushed back by her. At last he raises his hand and surrenders, “I’m wrong. I should have told you earlier. Don’t be angry. Don’t hit me.”
“It’s not you who’s embarrassed!” Kate doesn’t want to let him go. She continues to push him angrily.

The readers' comments on the novel: Genius Son Sells his Mom to Dad
The storyline could have been better -- organization and cohesion of episodes could stand improvement, ending could have been more definitive resolving the many conflicts between the protagonists. Of course, the despicable treatment of Leo towards Claire initially, e.g., selling her off in an auction and giving her to the madam of the club as princess is inhuman and a violation to the wife's rights and honor. I was wondering why she did not leave after these maltreatments. Oh, well, the conclusion [if the narrative ends in Chapter 488] is quite disappointing and anti-climactic. Thank you just the same....
The end of the story is wanting, considering how the episodes build up to conflict after conflict and concluding in yet another conflict. But then c'est la vie! Thank you....
