Claire looks at Brynn, closes her lips and is very upset. Then she says, “Leo, I want to talk to you.”
Then she goes to the sitting room next to her.
Leo looks at Claire, smiles, and follows her.
Claire turns angrily to Leo and asks, “What does that mean? Why is Brynn still here?”
But when Leo hears this, he laughs in mock surprise, “What? Dis not you cry and beg me to keep Brynn? Have you forgotten how you pleased me in bed?”
Claire’s face turns pale and she is immediately ashamed and indignant. Suddenly she realizes that she has fallen into the trap of Leo.
But she is powerless to break free.
With her head down and her fingers twisted, Claire clenches her teeth. “I don’t know much about her yet, so...”
“Don’t know much about her?” Leo sneers, “You’ve been friends all 20 years, and you don’t know much about her, Claire. There is no joke funnier than that.”
Claire looks pale.
Leo looks at her, then stops talking and turns away to the restaurant.
Claire has no choice but to follow him with her head down.
As soon as she gets to the restaurant, Claire sees Brynn standing by, helping Leo pull up his chair, and then sitting next to him.
Claire is upset, bites her teeth, but doesn’t show anything. Instead, she sits opposite them and eats quietly.
At the dinner table, however, Brynn seems to be deliberately giving Leo a dish every now and then in a soft tone. It seems that they look like a married couple for years, making Claire uncomfortable.
Just then, Brynn laughs and says, “Claire, just eat.” As if she has suddenly discovered Claire.
Claire clenches her teeth and loses her appetite, “Sorry, I don’t want to eat.”
Brynn gives a cold snort and says, “I see. You are not satisfied just because it is me who pick that dish for you, so you don’t have appetite.”
Then she begins to cry again. “Claire, is that true that you can’t stand me? What have I done wrong to make you hate me so much?”
How can there be such a shameless person in this world! ! !
When Claire hears this, she gets very angry and claps her hands on the table. “What have you done? Do I have to repeat? I just lose my appetite. Why should you care so much?”
“Well, don’t you just call me dirty? Claire, you’re not innocent, either.” Brynn responds, and Claire gets even angrier.
So she looks at Leo and finds that he has not responds to anything at all. So she gives up talking to Brynn. She takes a deep breath, and goes upstairs.

The readers' comments on the novel: Genius Son Sells his Mom to Dad
The storyline could have been better -- organization and cohesion of episodes could stand improvement, ending could have been more definitive resolving the many conflicts between the protagonists. Of course, the despicable treatment of Leo towards Claire initially, e.g., selling her off in an auction and giving her to the madam of the club as princess is inhuman and a violation to the wife's rights and honor. I was wondering why she did not leave after these maltreatments. Oh, well, the conclusion [if the narrative ends in Chapter 488] is quite disappointing and anti-climactic. Thank you just the same....
The end of the story is wanting, considering how the episodes build up to conflict after conflict and concluding in yet another conflict. But then c'est la vie! Thank you....
