Claire goes upstairs still in shock and decides how to find the evidence, only to look up and see Brynn standing on the stairs looking at her.
Brynn’s face is as if she’s watching a farce.
Claire takes a deep breath, represses the anger in her heart, and gives Brynn a cold glance, intending to leave.
Brynn stops Claire’s step and says with a light smile, “Claire, what is the matter with you? I really don’t expect you to be such a person ah. You were so angry with me that day; I think it was a fake. I’ll see what you do with your lie.”
Claire glares at Brynn. “Brynn, I never find you are so cruel!”
Brynn laughs, pleased, but she still presents to looks puzzled. “Claire, what are you talking about? I don’t understand anything. Do you want to smear me when your own affairs are discovered?”
Claire ignores her and strides off, but Brynn says, “But I’m looking forward to hearing from you in three days!”
Claire is taken aback and leaves without looking back.
Brynn, gritting her teeth and somewhat concerned, returns to her room, and quickly takes out her cell phone and sends a message to the man who took the photo that day to ask him to be careful these days.
After getting the man’s reply, Brynn is relieved.
But it doesn’t occur to Brynn that on the first day of the three-day period, Claire seems remarkably relaxed, eating and drinking as if nothing has happened.
Leo ignores Claire and asks no questions, which makes Brynn restless.
The next day, early in the morning, after breakfast, Leo drives to the company.
Brynn, looking at Claire with a calm face, says, “Hey, this is the first day. Why are you so calm, Claire? Are you going to give up?”
Ignoring Brynn, Claire is going back to her room.
At this moment, a maid runs into the room from the door in a hurry, she says loudly, “Help! Help!”
Claire and Brynn are stunned, and before they could ask what is going on, they hear the maid continue to shout, “There is someone making trouble at the door!”
No sooner has she spoken than the rioters at the door burst into the parlour.
“Everybody gets out of here!” The man is dressed casually in black, with his hat pressed low over his face. “Come out, all of you! Get that bastard Leo meets me now!”
Claire steps forward, frowning, and asks, “What are you trying to do? Leo is not here. You should look for him at his company. What are you yelling about here?”
Then Brynn comes along.
After looking at Claire and Brynn, the men look at each other as if to confirm which one is more useful.
At this moment, one of them begins to scold, “If we can find him, can we come here? Don’t talk any more, today you have to give us a reason, or we will all die together!”
After that, the man shows his explosives, which scare Claire and Brynn.

The readers' comments on the novel: Genius Son Sells his Mom to Dad
The storyline could have been better -- organization and cohesion of episodes could stand improvement, ending could have been more definitive resolving the many conflicts between the protagonists. Of course, the despicable treatment of Leo towards Claire initially, e.g., selling her off in an auction and giving her to the madam of the club as princess is inhuman and a violation to the wife's rights and honor. I was wondering why she did not leave after these maltreatments. Oh, well, the conclusion [if the narrative ends in Chapter 488] is quite disappointing and anti-climactic. Thank you just the same....
The end of the story is wanting, considering how the episodes build up to conflict after conflict and concluding in yet another conflict. But then c'est la vie! Thank you....
