Emma raises her hand to slap Claire, but Bryce stops her.
“You didn’t succeed in hurting her. Do you want to hit her in front of me now?” Bryce’s voice is extremely cold. It seems that he can kill Emma directly in the next moment.
Emma shakes her head and says innocently, “I didn’t hurt her. She walks carelessly. Why do you blame me?”
Bryce sneers, “I’ve been looking at you. You pushed her. You should be slapped because you make a mistake. How dare you fight back? You’ve been beaten and you’re a woman, so I don’t beat you. But you’d better apologize to her soon.”
“Do you want me to apologize for this slut? You are a qualified lover.” Emma satirizes Claire and angers Bryce.

Leo dotes on Emma so she says it.
Bryce ignores Emma’s threats and doesn’t want to listen to her again. He kicks Emma down the stairs.
Emma groans in pain. Her delicate body is healed before, and now she’s hurt again. She can’t even get up.
“Claire, let’s go. Stay away from this crazy woman.” Bryce looks at her coldly and leaves with Claire.
Emma falls to the ground. She struggles to her feet against the wall. She looks at Claire and Bryce’s back and bites her teeth.
But her anger can’t hurt Bryce and Claire and can only make her more anxious.
Emma finally stands up. Her legs hurt. She closes her eyes and falls to the ground. She’s in a coma.
Bryce helps Claire to the ward. He feels Claire’s body still shivering.
Claire is shaking. She doesn’t expect her to be so vicious. She doesn’t want to compete with Emma for Mrs. Howard’s identity. She doesn’t mean to murder her. But Emma is desperate to hurt her and even murder the innocent baby in her stomach!
Bryce can’t stand her and stops.
Claire sees Bryce’s abnormality. She also stops and asks him, “what’s the matter? Bryce?”
Bryce takes Claire’s hand and says seriously, “Claire, leave with me. If you are with Leo all the time, you will not be tortured to death by him, but will be forced to death by Emma. Leave with me!”

The storyline could have been better -- organization and cohesion of episodes could stand improvement, ending could have been more definitive resolving the many conflicts between the protagonists. Of course, the despicable treatment of Leo towards Claire initially, e.g., selling her off in an auction and giving her to the madam of the club as princess is inhuman and a violation to the wife's rights and honor. I was wondering why she did not leave after these maltreatments. Oh, well, the conclusion [if the narrative ends in Chapter 488] is quite disappointing and anti-climactic. Thank you just the same....
The end of the story is wanting, considering how the episodes build up to conflict after conflict and concluding in yet another conflict. But then c'est la vie! Thank you....
