Chapter 113
Ella
“Here,” Oran passed me a picture frame with a picture of all our friends that I had asked him to take the day before.
“Thanks!” I grinned, safely tucking it into my luggage.
“Bix will be pissed that you left the pack when he was not around,” he murmured.
“It’s ok. I had already informed him about my departure yesterday when we had dinner. He knew that I was leaving today,” I explained.
He just nodded and watched me check my luggage one last time. “Ella, I have something to confess,” he hesitantly opened his mouth.
“Let me guess, you want to confess that you only dated me and had se*x with me to make Bix jealous?” I inquired while finishing up with my bag just in time to take note of his surprised expression from the corner of my eyes.
“So you knew,” he felt embarrassed. “I am sorry for treating you like a tool at the time. I was mistaken in thinking that Bix loved you and that’s why he could not accept my love. When in reality it turned out he was protecting you because you were his cousin. I also very aggressive to you after Willow returned to the pack. I… I really feel like a shit…”

“It’s okay,” I clasped his hand and locked eyes with him, “I have done some unforgivable things in my life, that are nowhere close to any of the silly things that you were responsible for in order to gain your
mate’s attention and love, Oran. At this point in life when I have nothing left to lose except myself, I have learnt a lot of things from you guys. On
of them is to forgive and move on,” I smiled to lighten the guilt.
He nodded guiltily, giving me a hug, “I will miss you. Keep in touch with us,” he remarked.
“I will,” I smiled, hugging him back happily. We chatted a lot for a long time before he left.
As soon as I finished checking over the room to make sure I hadn’t missed anything, Wyatt dashed
“Aunt Ella, I have brought you a farewell gift!” Wyatt excitedly showed me the sweet berries he was cradling in his chubby little palms.
“Wow! They are my favorite!” I excitedly squatted down to his height and tested one of them, “They are absolutely delicious. Thank you!” I rubbed his little hand lovingly. Over the past few days I had a collection of great interactions with both of the twins thanks to… Walter. Since he was staying at my place the children would come over to play and that’s how they had grown a little closer to me. Spending all that time with them, I felt as if I also wanted one for myself but it was just a crazy thought given my current situation.
“You are welcome, Aunt Ella,” the little guy’s ears turned red at the compliment. “Please come to visit me again.”

“Of course I will come to visit you. You are so cute after all!” I lovingly pinched his cheeks, regretting deep in my heart that I had not interacted with these cuties more when I had the chance.
“Aunt Ella!” That’s when Lori came in with a rose in her hand for me. I gave both children a hug.
“Are you sure you don’t want to stay a little longer?” Willow stood in the door frame watching me.
“It’s already too late. I even stayed a week longer than I intended,” I chuckled, getting up from the floor and grabbing my luggage. During those days the two of us had talked a lot and had grown as comfortable with each other as we had been in the past.
“Okay but have you decided what you are going to do next or where you are going?” She asked worriedly as we both made our way out of my bedroom to the living room.
I was silent for a moment before I revealed, “I will go abroad.”
“Are you sure?” Willow was surprised as I expected.
I nodded, “I want a fresh start that is impossible in this country where my past will continue to haunt me. Thanks to Reuben, no werewolf pack will bother me but I still can’t bring myself to stay You could say that I am starting a new life,” I explained.
“Starting a new life? I thought you and Walter were together,” Willow commented.
When she mentioned Walter, my feet abruptly paused of their own
accord. “We… we are not like that,” I found myself stuttering when I recalled his ki*ss from days ago. His touch and lips had been so tender on my skin that I had spent more than one sleepless night since he confessed his impure- intentions towards me. I had forgotten my pain and sorrow while living with him. He filled that empty void in my heart but then… “He has disappeared for a couple of days without a word. He was just staying at my place, that’s all,” I forced a smile, being careful not to meet Willow’s eye.

After that Willow did not ask me about it again but she knew what was going on in Throughout my been I did not know why I had allowed Walter to become a part of my life knowing the eventual outcome. I was not upset with him. He had every right to leave. There was no commitment between us and it was just a ki*ss…

It should not affect me like this when I was not a virgin. I had a lot of experience with men. On top of that we were just a man and woman that had kis*sed and touched each other in the heat of the
moment.
Approaching the living room, I hugged Willow for the last time. “Reuben did not come?” I asked.
“Umm… Reuben wants to speak with you upstairs,” she gestured towards one of the bedrooms.
“Upstairs?” I thought it was strange but I went upstairs.
Unbeknownst to me after I left, Reuben came out of the kitchen to the living room and hugged Willow’s waist from the side, watching my vanishing back.
“Did we do that right?” Willow looked at him worriedly.
“Yeah, don’t worry,” he smiled at her concerned face and gently nipped her nose, “Let’s go.”

Later, when I entered the room looking for Reuben, I froze in place when the person in front of him was not Reuben but…
“Ella…” Alpha Adam called me lovingly.
I felt my emotions fluctuate all over the place when I saw his face after so long. He looked so messed up that he could have easily been mistaken for a homeless person.
“Why are you here?” My voice was barely above the whisper.
“I requested this favor of Reuben,” he gently placed a hand on my head. It felt so warm that it made me realize that I had been wrong all along. Not everyone had left me. There had always been one person that was watching out for me even though I had told him that I hated him and did not want anything to do with him. He put his ego aside and had been living in Emerald Bright just to be close to me. “Ella, I know you hate me, and don’t wish to see me ever again but I just wanted to see you this one last time, my girl.” The guilt of his crimes against me and my ignorance had broken his heart. He looked like someone that had given up the will to live. My heart grew heavier as my eyes watered. “Dad is… I mean… I am really sorry for being such a horrible father to you. I destroyed your life with my own two hands. I deserve your hate but you do have a bright future ahead. So I want to make sure you don’t get discouraged. Everyone makes mistakes, there are only a few people that are willing to accept them and seek redemption. You are one of those precious gems, Ella,” he smiled, k*issing my forehead. “Go and find your happiness, my girl.”
Listening to him, I broke down into tears and could not stop myself from hugging him. “You too, I don’t want you to feel guilty. I forgive you.”
He could not stop his tears either as he hugged me tightly but no words came from his mouth. I pulled away from him and wiped at his tears. “I don’t want to be sad right now. If you want me to move one then please move on with your life too,” I requested. requested.
He nodded, his eyes red and teary. I held his hand and looked deep into his eyes, “I am not leaving you. I am just going to do something that will secure my future. One day, I will return and then we will live together,” I stated, surprising him.
“Are you sure? You will come home to dad… I mean you will return to me?”
I nodded with a smile, “Yes, I will be back soon so wait for me in this house. Stay safe and be happy.”
His lifeless face and eyes beamed with hope. Something that I craved to see.
Some time later, I walked out of my house with Alpha Adam. I had already called a taxi that was waiting for me in front of the house. Reuben, Willow, and Oran stood by the taxi waiting for me, their lips spread in wide smiles to see the two of us together.
“Don’t forget to drop me a message once in a while,” Willow remarked, hugging me. I nodded.
“This hug is from Bix and I,” Oran gave a big hug. I giggled.
Reuben and I did not hug each other. “Take care,” he remarked, as we shook hands.
“Thanks,” I smiled, then gave one last hug to Alpha Adam before I got into the taxi.

Chapter 113
As the taxi began to pull away, I could not help but look back at everyone. I was so thankful to the Goddess that I had so many beautiful people in my life. Especially… my father. I smiled at him, waving goodbye.
He was surprised and immediately waved in return but this time his face was filled with happiness rather than tears.
I wiped my tears away and calmed my emotions as the taxi finally exited the Emerald Bright territory. Now my path was set for the airport. I looked out of the window the entire way, unable to shake the feeling that something was missing. I didn’t even realize forty minutes had passed when the taxi halted at the airport.
