Harvey York's Rise to Power novel Chapter 246

Harvey touched the piano with his hands. He opened the lid of the piano with a soft bang. After that, he stretched his hands out to press on the keys softly.

He was only standing there casually, playing the piano with one hand, but the graceful melody started to echo around the large hall. With every movement of his fingers, the melody fluctuated between tones of excitement, melancholy, and deep sounds...

The smooth music was coupled with a perfect rhythm and the casual way it was played. While many of the people present knew little about music, they could faintly sense the way Harvey played the piano was so much better than Jamie’s.

Nia’s facial expression grew incredibly hideous. She felt like she was deeply humiliated. At first, she wanted to make use of her plot to show off how exceptional Jamie was. It never occurred to her that Mandy’s live-in husband knew how to play the piano too. He even exposed Jamie’s fake act of playing the piano just now. Suddenly, shame and embarrassment overwhelmed Nia.

Then, the one song ended. Everyone was still immersed in the music, and its rhythm echoed in their minds. They couldn’t recover their senses for quite some time.

“Is… this really the legendary live-in son-in-law?” One of the female classmates said in surprise. They ridiculed Harvey before, but Harvey’s performance was beyond comparison when it came to their husbands.

“How? How is it possible for that worthless piece of trash?” Cecilia’s body trembled slightly. She was filled with disbelief.

Angel’s cute mouth parted open slightly. Surprise colored her face. It seemed like it was the first day she knew of Harvey.

Standing before them, Harvey seemed totally different from the worthless live-in son-in-law whom she knew. Although he was still quite poor and shabby, his disposition and dominance made him seem like a totally different person...

“I think playing with cotton candy is more or less something like this.” Harvey said lightly, appearing relaxed and nonchalant.

He did not play any particular song just now. He was only fooling around. Yet, even that kind of casual playing was tremendously better than Jamie’s deliberate pretense.

Nia’s face grew uglier by the second. Clearly, that worthless piece of trash had his own skill which he was particularly good at. If she had known earlier, she would not let Jamie put up such a show.

After all, the Ferrari parked at the door was more than enough to create a sense of jealousy in others. Now, she was deeply awkward and embarrassed.

“What are you so smug about? Who knows if you’ve taken a loudspeaker with you too?” Nia gnashed her teeth and said.

“Did I take a loudspeaker with me too?” Harvey smiled faintly. “If that’s the case, are you admitting to the fact that your husband was faking it just now? Why did you do that? Did you want your classmates to be jealous of you?”
