Healing my disabled husband novel Chapter 783

Chapter 783 She Won't Get Involved

Averi was sipping on her juice when she heard Beata's words and almost choked.
She now felt that whenever she talked to Beata, she had to make sure there was nothing in her mouth, or else she might choke herself.
Beata stared at Averi intently, stubbornly wanting an answer.
Averi sighed and said helplessly, "The air conditioning in my room broke down last night. I came out around four in the morning and your brother took me to a new room."
As Averi spoke, both she and River looked at Beata as if trying to read something from her expression.
Beata was confused by their stares for a moment before realizing why they were looking at her like that.
She immediately put down her fork and looked at the two of them, saying, "No way! You guys don't think it was me who did it, do you?"
Averi and River didn't say anything but River raised his eyebrows slightly with a look that spoke volumes.
Beata panicked, "It wasn't me! How could I do such a thing?"
Although sometimes unreliable with some strange quirks of hers, there was no way she would let Averi suffer from poor sleep just because of something like this.
Beata suddenly felt a bit wronged. How bad must she be to make her brother misunderstand her like this? Her eyes involuntarily turned red, and she looked pitiful.
River let out a sigh and said, "Okay, it's my fault for misunderstanding you. Is that okay?"
Averi also apologized, "Beata, I'm sorry too."
She didn't want Beata to be misunderstood like this. It was just that Beata had been too enthusiastic about setting her up with River lately.
It wasn't unreasonable for Beata to create opportunities for them to interact with each other. So Averi subconsciously wanted to find out if it was because of Beata's matchmaking efforts that caused the misunderstanding.
But now Averi regretted it. She shouldn't have thought like that in the first place. It was hurtful for the little girl.
Beata's grievance came quickly but dissipated just as fast due to Averi and River's quick apologies.
Even though she felt wronged, they managed to coax her back into good spirits.
She pouted and said, "Hmph! Although you two were mean to me, I forgive you both because I'm such a cutie pie."
Averi smirked and peeled a shrimp for Beata, saying, "Thank you, little cutie Beata."
Beata nibbled on the shrimp and her brain started to spin again.
"But how did you know Averi's air conditioning was broken, River?"
Beata looked at River with a gossipy expression on her face. Everything she was thinking was written all over it.
River sighed. This little girl just couldn't stay still for even a moment.
He looked at Beata and said, "What answer do you want to hear?"
Beata was speechless.
Of course she wanted to hear the answer she wanted but could she say it?
She couldn't!
Her annoying brother knew exactly what she was thinking but he still enjoyed teasing her like this.
Beata chewed on a piece of beef loudly in her mouth.
Hmph!
She wasn't going to get involved anymore. She would just sit back and watch how her annoying brother would finally realize his feelings.
