Jared merely grunted, "Who gave you that ruby necklace?"
It was odd what Jared cared about.
Agnes answered casually, "That piece of jewelry belongs to Bro Kear, it's very important. Could you help me find it?"
Upon hearing the words "very important", Jared's hand, resting in his coat pocket, clenched involuntarily.
He knew he should return the bracelet to Agnes. He didn't stoop to the level of keeping things that weren't his.
But seeing Agnes so flustered, an uncontrollable surge of anger welled up within him.
Jared lifted his chin, "I haven't seen it."
Agnes glanced at him. His face was impassive.
Never mind, Agnes hadn't expected Jared to help her.
She meticulously searched through the shrubbery but with no luck.
But she had not been anywhere else just now, and the area she had been active in was not large.
It was impossible that she couldn't find it.
Unless...
Agnes suddenly straightened up, "Jared, you found it, didn't you?"
Jared's eyebrows twitched slightly.
Agnes knew she had guessed correctly.
She felt a surge of anger. Jared had found her bracelet and didn't want to return it.
Jared's look was indifferent as he replied, "Agnes, don't make wild accusations. If you don't trust me, you can search me."
Saying this, Jared spread his arms, as if waiting for Agnes to frisk him.
Agnes was a little uncertain.
Had Jared really not seen it, or had the bracelet been picked up by someone else?
But that bracelet was too valuable.
Agnes absolutely could not let it be lost.
