"It might be her, but I’m not sure. The News Department isn't exactly her fan club, but she's got a few lapdogs who suck up to her. I can't exactly say who's done this, but I'm heading over to the TV station to find out."
Jared stood up, "I'm coming with you."
Agnes hesitated, "Is that a good idea?"
"Our relationship is bound to be public sooner or later," he reasoned, "The media already think you're on a vengeful rampage against me. If I appear with you, it might dispel those rumors. Maybe we should take this chance to announce we're back together."
"If we do, the media will claim that I'm jealous of your relationship with Sharon and trying to make a statement as the wronged wife. It'll be even more chaotic."
The media always had a knack for sensationalism. There was nothing they couldn't make up.
Agnes felt that the timing wasn't right.
"The longer we wait, the more people will attack you, Agnes," Jared said, "I can't wait any longer."
Agnes was moved that Jared's first concern was for her.
She took a deep breath. "Alright, we'll go to the TV station together. But let's hold off on the announcement for now. We need to find out who's trying to frame me first. Only when the truth is out can we clear my name."
Jared nodded. They prepared to leave together.
Just as they reached the door, Jared received a call from Leo.
Sharon had gone missing. Her assistant and agent were at a loss, having no idea about her whereabouts.
Jared's face turned serious.
Agnes knew this was a serious matter, because Sharon had severe depression. A few leaked photos had driven her to attempt suicide before.
