Emily and James divorced officially. There was little division of property between the two of them. Anyway, their boundary had always been distinct. Bryce's custody belonged to Emily. James wanted to give Bryce some compensation, but Emily refused.
Originally, Bryce had nothing to do with him. It was he who had given Bryce a complete family in the past few years. She was already grateful for it. How could she still want James' compensation?
"In the future, I'll visit him when I have time. After all, he called me dad. I got some feeling," James said to Emily.
Emily nodded. She hadn't told Franklin about Bryce's natural father. She didn't know if he knew, but she didn't want to say it anyway. It didn't matter to her anymore that whether he knew it or not.
After separating from James, Emily got into Franklin's car.
Everything here was left to James. She was ready to sell the house.
James suggested her to keep the house in case she came back later.
However, Emily felt that her chances of coming back were very slim. Even if she separated from Franklin in the future, she would not come back here which would cause trouble for James. It would be better to sell it and give up that hope. One is finished, all is finished.
"Has everything been settled?" Emily got in the car and Franklin asked faintly.
Emily glared at him and snorted.
Franklin said unhappily, "I'm asking you a question. Answer me honestly."
Emily thought that James' matter had been resolved, and she was no longer afraid of him. She immediately said angrily, "Why should I answer you honestly? Who do you think you are? I tell you, it's not impossible for me to stay by your side. But if you want me to be nice to you, no way."
"Emily, do you think that you don't have to be afraid of me once James' business is over!" Franklin said.
Emily was stunned and pursed her lips when he guessed what was important to her.
Franklin sneered, "Have you ever thought that if I can set up a game, I can set up a second game? I have thousands of ways to deal with people like them. Not only him but also your good friend Joyce. I've been taking good care of her for the past few years. She can use that store for free. Do you know the rent in that area? If I present a piece of evidence now, she has to give me all the money she has earned in the past few years."
"What do you want? You can't do anything to Joyce. She's my best friend." Emily said anxiously.
Franklin suddenly reached out and pinched her chin, "It's none of my business that whether she's your best friend. You want to leave me and even do this to me. How can you expect me to be nice to your friend?"
Emily gritted her teeth and glared at him angrily.
Franklin smiled and suddenly leaned over to kiss her lips.
Emily did not dare to move. If he did this to her before he said this, she would definitely bite him and let him know how powerful she was.
But now she didn't dare to move. It was about Joyce's happiness.
Joyce and Sebastian were normal citizens. Their happy life couldn't be ruined by Franklin.
She didn't expect Franklin to be so powerful before until but James' family had a problem. He could easily get out any indictment from the prosecutor's office and withdraw the lawsuit at will. He even threw a vase worth hundreds of millions of dollars. She could not afford to provoke such a person.
"Stay by my side and don't think about leaving." Franklin patted her face with satisfaction and said in a low voice.
After letting her go, Franklin leaned back in his seat and looked ahead expressionlessly.
Emily pursed her lips and suddenly asked, "You asked me to stay by your side. What about Avery?"
"What about her? There is no conflict between you and her." Franklin said faintly.
"But I heard you're going to marry her."
"What, are you jealous?"
