Days later...

Lora was having an interview for a business magazine.

The interviewer glanced at her and asked, “Miss Davis, you’re so young and already so successful. How did you manage to become the CEO of Davis & Co. at only twenty-eight years old?”

Lora smiled. She looked at the interviewer and replied, “Well, My daddy is the boss... so...”

The audience laughed and Lora chuckled, her words lifting the tension in the room. It was a live show with a few guests in the background while Lora and the interviewer sat in front, facing the audience.

“Are you saying you got your position because of your father?” The interviewer asked.

“Yes,” Lora admitted. “How would I manage to rise so fast if it weren’t for him?”

She took in a deep breath and continued, “My father saw potential in me... he believed that I could lead the company to greater heights and that’s why he gave me this opportunity to take over from him. I did get the position because of my surname... but I work hard every day to make sure I deserve to be the CEO of Davis & Co.”

The interviewer nodded, impressed by Lora’s honesty.

He went through his script before saying, “A lot of young people are referring to you as their inspiration because of your achievements. What do you have to say to them?”

Lora glanced at the cameras and remarked, “I don’t have much to say. No one has lived this life before... we are all experiencing it first-hand. What may work for me, may not work for someone else. Do what you think is best... also, the aim is to fight hard and never give up! There’s always light at the end of the tunnel.”

“Thank you for those kind words, Miss Davis,” the interviewer said. “Enough about business, let’s talk about your personal life. People would like to know about your love life. Is there a special someone in your life?”

At that question, Lora blushed profusely.

“That expression tells me you’re deeply in love,” the interviewer remarked. "You were trending again a few days ago... a picture of you and Mr Kingsley went viral. Everyone was shocked to find out that you have secret children. Are you and Mr Kingsley together?"

Lora nodded and replied, “Yes, we are. Ryan Kingsley is my man.”

“You’ve broken so many hearts right now... including mine, I was hoping I could have a chance,” the interviewer uttered.

Lora shrugged and said, “Too bad, I’m taken by Mr Kingsley.”

The interviewer faked a heart attack. He grabbed his chest and stated, “Too bad for me... I guess happiness is not for me in this life. You’re really beautiful.. don’t your male employees drool over you?”

Lora laughed and replied, “I can’t say drool per se... but I do have a few admirers. And some of them are brave enough to express their feelings.”

“I knew it. There was no way you would be this beautiful and not be popular. I would risk my job to ask you out if you were my boss,” the interviewer remarked.

Lora laughed heartily, her eyes watering with tears.

“Oh, you’re so funny,” she replied before wiping the tears from the corners of her eyes.

When the interview was over, Lora returned to the company.

After entering her office, she almost screamed when she found a tall figure perched on her desk.

“Ryan? You scared me!” She scolded, breathing a sigh of relief.

He had given her quite a scare.

“I want you to be scared,” Ryan said in a low dangerous voice. “I’m about to punish you.”
