Ryan glanced at Lora, a million emotions swirling in his eyes. He swallowed the lump in his throat and said in a low voice, "I don't believe you."
Lora scoffed and replied, "You don't need to. Jason is the man I love and chose to marry."
Ryan fell silent, the lump in his throat growing bigger. He looked at Lora and took a step forward, getting closer to her.
He could feel his heart racing in his chest, Lora's scent seeping into his nostrils the closer he got.
"I don't believe it because I can't see it in your eyes, Lora. You see, you don't look like someone who's in love right now," Ryan said in a low velvety voice.
Lora sneered and looked up at Ryan. She questioned, "Who are you to say that? What right do you have to claim I don't love the man I'm dating?"
"I may not have the right but I can prove it," Ryan said and before Lora could tell what was happening, he held the back of her neck before capturing her lips in a passionate kiss.
Lora froze, her heart pounding like a galloping horse as Ryan's lips moved smoothly against her lips. He was gentle this time, careful even. It was like he was pouring his longing and emotions into the kiss, causing Lora's breath to hitch.
For a moment, Lora's mind felt hazy, unable to focus on anything. The warmth and the passionate way that Ryan kissed her stirred something within her. Something dangerous and it sent alarm bells ringing in her head.
She came back to her senses and her eyes widened when she realised what had happened. Ryan kissed her and without realising, she had slightly kissed him back.
'Oh my God! What am I doing?' Lora mused in horror.
Just before she could push Ryan away, he pulled back on his own and licked his lips, a satisfied smirk playing on his lips. He looked at Lora and asked huskily, "If you really loved Jason, then why did you kiss me back just now?"
"Ryan you-" Lora hissed, her blood boiling. Her face turned red from embarrassment and anger. "You're such a jerk!"
She glared at Ryan before walking away, her heart pounding rapidly in her chest.
Ryan let out a low chuckle. He raised his hand and swiped his thumb over his lower lip, still feeling Lora's lips on his.
Why did he feel so strongly for Lora? Whenever he saw her, he couldn't help himself. He always wanted to hold her... kiss her. He also hated seeing her with another man and it killed him with jealousy.
He thought about how Lora was making male jewelry for Jason and his heart clenched with jealousy. The sight of Jason annoyed Ryan for some reason. He didn't know why but he kept seeing a familiar face in him.
